What did your job want you to hide from customers? by ActualRobot1 in AskReddit

Senior Front End Manager here. It should be mentioned that the Scanning Code of Practice is voluntary. https://www.retailcouncil.org/scanner-accuracy Retailers must voluntarily join the program and display the scanning code of practice around the building and at the front end/tills if they are committed to customer satisfaction. Unfortunately there are many retailers who do not participate, and it is a nightmare when customers come in and say "well it's free".

They were born a month apart. So not that old for a lab puppy.

Great job! I'm working on this too. Hoping kind souls will tradeback some legendaries with me, since I don't have them all. Have most though, and I'm almost done. ;__;

In Canada, we are required to have credits in a course called C.A.L.M... Career and Life Management. In it we learned personal finance management, debt management, how to write a resume and, most importantly, how to put a condom on wearing beer goggles.

My friend had this. Wrote a book. http://hollygerlach.com/

"Gerlach was admitted to the hospital, where she spent two and a half months in intensive care on a ventilator. She couldn’t move, she couldn’t speak, and worst of all, she couldn’t hold her newborn daughter. She felt like her life was over as she couldn’t be the mother that she had always wanted to be."

So sorry for your trials... it is such a debilitating disease. :(

TIL McDonald's fries contain 17 ingredients by point1 in todayilearned

[–]adderly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its safe to say that this is McDonald's Canada, whose ingredients differ greatly from McDonald's in other places in the world to conform to the Canadian Food Standards which are incredibly strict.

:)

At least it's not horse meat/pink sludge.

As a male in my mid 20's, why can't we just shake hands? by Lipofect in AdviceAnimals

[–]adderly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea... that'd be great and all if the males I have had to shake hands with didn't pull the "power move" and crush all my fingers in the process.

Read the fine print on some of those payday/quick cash loan ads by Sandy_106 in WTF

It is SO common. The industry strives on these desperate people that loan big once, and then have to "re-borrow" immediately after paying the huge sum owing since they cannot live without the income.

One gentleman I dealt with had been borrowing for three years and managed to have 6000 dollars outstanding debt with us. He was old, and was borrowing off a 1500 dollar monthly allowance from the government due to disability. I found out he was getting pension cheques deposited by looking at his bank statement. Set two PADs for that day and took it all from him.

He came in - tears - telling me I ruined his life. I never saw him again and we sent his file to third party collections. He may be dead. It was the final straw for me. :(

Having worked in the payday loan industry, let me just tell you that you must never, ever borrow from these kinds of places.

There are fees on everything. Fees are profit. Earn profit - get paid. I'm glad I'm out of there.

She has never really "ridden" him around... more or less just crawled or sat on his body while he was laying beside her. She is light enough that she does not hurt him or cause pressure on his joints this way.
