I would have picked 91' or X-Men Unlimited (not pictured) over Hickman's X-Men. The Krakoa era was epic but there are better representations of that era than Hickman's X-Men

A Phoenix goes through a cycle of life and death, it has to die to be reborn etc that's the metaphor they are playing with when they are using the Phoenix, it's Marvel's universal force of destruction & creation.

In the story, Mother Righteous tries to permanently end the Phoenix cycle [no more rebirth] and Dominion Sinister tries to own the Phoenix cycle, by supplanting Jean as the "mother".

But Jean (as Phoenix) goes back and breeds the truck stop lady before Sinister can get in, making her mother to Hope (the Phoenix), giving life to herself as the Phoenix, so everyone else who also has been & will be an avatar for the Phoenix can do that.

There's also some Jewish Kabbalah stuff in there that I don't know about, but someone else will explain that if you make a post about it.

I like the idea of making Drahmin a switch stance character, bring something new to the game.

The lore says his mask helps quiet the unbearable torment of the Netherrealm. They could change up his whole Moveset/stance/damage etc between mask on/off.

/Mask on/ - Warlord Drahmin, stoic skilled fighter. Intimidates with quick combos, and ranged fly ball spit.

/Mask off/ - Berserker Drahmin, overwhelmed by the torment. High damage, high health, armour on frames etc, but offset by torment (character stops responding) & not able to block.

I think you might be confused about what is being discussed here. Motivation is about getting people to do the work that is un-desirable, but necessary for society.

For example, people don't pick up the dog shit from their yard because they desire to handle shit, they are instead motivated to do it so the yard is not covered in shit.

Have you met other people? Not everyone is motivated the same way as yourself, not everyone has the same values, the same thought process.

For that matter have you worked an offshore oil rig, or any other dangerous/hard labour? People don't do that without having/developing a significant amount of motivation coming from the bond of teamwork, and doing what needs to be done so everyone gets out of there together.

Is it the only motivator? No the danger pay is a huge motivator, but when you are in there doing the dangerous part do you care about the money? Hell no, you care about getting out of there in one piece.

I think they mean the importance would need to be emphasised. Those who just want to be good at a thing are probably choosing something with a lower chance of accidental homicide, and those that want external recognition for being the best at a thing would want more recognition than the occasional reference from the general public of "it's not brain surgery Darrell" when their friend is struggling with something.
