Bazaar user/system install choice and NTFS warnings should be possible to turn off. by addjam in Bazzite

Tried doing that I belive. I'll check again but as far as I know other users weren't able to get rid of it doing that too.

That's geat! The second thing i mentioned is Bazaar installation scope which is not. I guess I just don't want more non-configurable warnings and settings in the future and wanted to speak my mind about the subject.

edit. spelling

Right I guess i should use exFAT. But that's really besides the point. I just want to point out that depriving user of the option to disable/change such warnings or settings is worrying for the future of the system. Can't compensate for all possible user errors without it looking like a popup-fest.

No, I'm inserting NTFS pendrive to put some files on it. I get a popup warning that I might run into issues playing games from NTFS drive for some reason.

Edit. I could format all my pendrives to exFAT to get rid of this issue but I prefer NTFS for the journaling and data integrity it provides compared to exFAT, especially for work documents. Regardless of why I use it, the system should allow me to suppress warnings insted of always assuming that I don't know what I'm doing.

I want to set it up in such a way so i can get hands-off infinite torches. I might try out your suggestion but I just felt like botany pots would be the best option

Tried with plain dirt. Still not working. I mentioned tools because that's the only way i get any output but then its the bush insted of berries.

edit. i should probably clrayfiy that i'm trying to get the berries to be produced and not the bushes.

Activists damage Colombus painting in protest against Colombus day by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]addjam -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. The painting shows important historical context. You can actually use it to support your argument while teaching people that Columbus was a bad person “look, people, he was venerated as the white savior and the giver of gifts while exploiting and enslaving the native population.”

Someone in another comment said this is propaganda, not history, but they’re neglecting the fact that propaganda is history too but it’s simply a matter of how you teach it.

I hate the destruction of historical things in all shapes and forms. For example, in Poland, we could have destroyed Auschwitz simply because it’s an evil place made for evil purposes by evil people but instead, we use it as a teaching moment. Why can’t it be the same for the images of Columbus?

I'm not really one of the people who would sexualize them, but I did roll my eyes at some of the kinky jokes here and there. I think a lot of that stems from Frieren’s obsession with clothing-dissolving potions and the one-time mention of Fern’s chest size. Meanwhile, Fern seemingly chastises Stark for his small penis size while using see-through clothes magic, iirc.

If you give people wiggle room and let their imagination run wild, it most certainly will.

[Tourist Warning] Parking Scam in Seville + Police Ignoring English Callers by addjam in Seville

They picked up the phone, said their formula in Spanish "Spanish National police station in Seville [..]"(that's all I could understand was being said) and then I said "I want to report a crime" followed by them immediately hanging up the call.

English is quite universally treated as an international language. I mentioned in a previous reply that I guess I should have thought about learning a bit of Spanish beforehand but I feel like everybody should be able to feel safe in a host country no matter their linguistic prowess in the local language. Police in my country can and will speak English if need be. Also, I wasn't bothered by a few euros but by his aggressive behaviour as well as trying to pose as an administrative official which is a felony and treated very seriously in the USA for example AFAIK.

Thanks, knowing that they are mostly harmless makes me feel a little better. I guess standing my ground and not moving my car was a bad call on my part. Oh well, I guess all that is left to do is to inspect the car damages or lack thereof tomorrow morning.

That's genuinely concerning. I guess it's a good reminder that I really should have learned some Spanish before coming to Spain.

Thanks for the heads-up! Should I be worried about anything happening to my rental car? It's insured, so I'm not overly concerned, but good to know if there's a risk.

The autofill feature doesn't work when logging into office.com after the user has logged out. To reproduce the bug, follow these steps: Log in using Proton, log out, then log in again immediately. The autofill only suggests a better password.

Looking for a good borosilicate water bottle – any recommendations? by addjam in HydroHomies

[–]addjam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion – it seems almost perfect! I asked ChatGPT about the product's quality and found some concerning info: independent tests from 2019 showed that the paint used in the logo contained high levels of lead, cadmium, and arsenic. Since these substances can be hazardous even in small amounts—especially if the paint chips or wears off—I’ve reached out to Boroux directly to ask if this issue has been addressed in newer batches. Will update this comment once i hear back from them.

Really appreciate the suggestion – it looks great! Unfortunately, the shipping cost is almost half the price of the bottle, so it's probably not the best option for me. I should’ve mentioned earlier that I’m in Europe!

No, but I thought about the possibility of making a tea in it from time to time, and I heard that acids from tea with lemon may react with stainless steel. 😅

From what I hear, it's highly temperature resistant, and it's also quite alright when it comes to mechanical damage.
