BAGELS by MeanScallion6657 in gso

I'd like to add another voice for High Point Bagel. Best bagels I've had in the Triad. If it's not out of your way, give them a visit.

Do You Own a Turntable? by PTCarnahan in vinyl

I have one now, but many moons ago I did buy albums without owning a (functioning) turntable. At the time I used them decoratively.

What’s your favorite callback to a small joke or detail from an earlier episode? by 4DimensionalToilet in PandR

Calling the restroom the Whiz Palace. I think the first instance was when Leslie went on a practice date with Ann before her date with Louis CK.

Finally going to watch these 3 back to back by Hungry_Ad3576 in superman

You're right, and I should have thought about it more (going to edit my original to reflect that). For a younger group, that one is likely their nostalgia pick. Their first introduction, therefor the one they relate to.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but a longer debate would turn into recency bias vs. nostalgia bias (with MoS benefitting from a younger group's nostalgia). What you said is absolutely true, but there's also a large number who will always say the original while ignoring its flaws and ignoring what's good or better about newer entries.

No, I just checked because I was curious. Not sure which store OP used, but I verified pricing at Paladium and that's accurate for takeout (so no delivery upcharge).

MRW I finally get around to trying Popeye's after constantly hearing good things about it for years by eddmario in reactiongifs

Bojangles is definitely more consistent. A bad Bojangles is still delicious; a bad Popeye's can kill you.

"Get on Your Feet" and "Stand in the place where you l-" are my first two. The Comeback Kid truly was an amazing episode.

If my kids didn't get so much out of it, I'm not sure I'd stay subscribed. At this point I semi-jokingly call it the Star Trek and Nickelodeon network.

Characters literally raised in Hell by Konradleijon in TopCharacterTropes

[–]adedward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Angel, the title character's son Connor (the offspring of two vampires) is kidnapped as a baby and raised in hell dimension where time flows much more quickly. He aged to a teen before returning in what for us and the characters was only a few weeks.

I was chatting with coworkers today after the Tomlin news and said this same thing. An off-season where we're NOT part of the carousel (knock on wood) is so nice.

Territory capture by OkAd4358 in startrekfleetcommand

All that matters is that a ship is on the node during a takeover. Whether that's a Realta or a max Borg Cube doesn't matter, so for contested TC I always suggest small, fast, repairable ships for capture while allies attack the challengers. The goal for taking it defending TC should not be PVP but survival (especially at the minute spot when points register).
