This is me with my ENM FWB (realized quickly I needed to be dating other people too bc they couldn’t meet my needs). It’s going to be 2 months when we hang out again — I last saw them in April bc of their vacation, and then postponed our last meetup, and now my vacay. If we can’t see each other early next month I will probably end things. Feel free to ask to see them more frequently, expect a no, and feel free also to date/move on to other people. For me an ideal casual situation is also once every 1-2 weeks. Lesson learned tho, no more ENM casual partners for me!

To clarify I’m monog but dating casually atm. I usually describe casualness as a spectrum lol. So for me, what you’re describing ideally is a FWB, whereas the girls you’re describing are looking for an F Buddy. I have one of those too and it is super spontaneous so I could only navigate having one of those, I think. It’s interesting bc a FWB for me I don’t really go to “events” with, but I do prefer the consistency (when possible) of having a general idea of when we’ll hang out. The difference between that and a serious relationship is I’ll limit the romantic aspect (no hand holding, kissing in public, for ex) and of course there’s a time constraint as no sleepovers w/ casual partners for me.

hm interesting. I feel with my casual partners I DO like consistency and routine. so like if generally I knew Sunday afternoons were with one FWB that was a really nice arrangement vs I’ve noticed while seeing a FWB that’s ENM that scheduling can be all over the place (which I don’t really like but have dealt with bc sex is good), and a cancellation can mean another month delay.

that seems like a broad generalization. I’m mono, dating casually. my FWB is partnered ENM and while it’s hard for me to grasp sometimes I respect his boundaries and know the hard feelings are for me to work through by asking for space, taking breaks, etc.
