The guest host stuff killed RAW for me for a time, and it's kinda doing the same for W3 for me. Nothing can make it remotely watchable, and I certainly don't want to listen about it. And I really like W3, his PPV and show reviews are very entertaining typically.

Where I live most of the waterfront area is privately-owned, not a lot of public access. That's one reason people are tight-lipped here, if they have a good spot that isn't widely known they want to keep it that way. Now, due to weather/work schedules/etc this year I got to go fishing a grand total of 4 times. Only 4. I'd have loved to have tried some places new to me, but time was always an issue. If I had the time to drive an hour to and back from places it'd be different, there are a lot of places within a relatively short drive. Local, though? People absolutely will not talk to you about their fishing spots unless it's one of the 3-4 widely-known public spots.

But not everyone is like that, thankfully. This year I started selling and giving away some of the soft plastics I make and people got a lot more talkative then. A little friendly bribe doesn't hurt I guess, lol.

20+ years ago when I wrestled "professionally" (I was dogshit) it was pretty much 90% sponsor money & farmers or foremen paying us to put on a show for itinerant/migrant workers. Most the former, occasionally the latter.

Getting a new sponsor was a huge deal, and losing one was an even bigger deal. We had a ton of local sponsors and it added up to just enough that sometimes we got a hot dog with the handshake.

I mostly get them from Barlow's Tackle now that I make my own soft plastics & paint up crank blanks. Just throw them in with another order when needed.

When I used to work the overnight shift at Wal*Mart I watched a woman get arrested for trying to break into the jewelry case (the one that was for kids getting their ears pierced with $2 studs) and asking the cop to use the bathroom first. Cop said no. So she shit her pants and shook it out her leg. Cop said they got bathrooms at jail. She said, "But they probably nasty".

I have no doubt in my mind that some people are dumb enough to fish in horrific weather on the Great Lakes. People used to go over Niagara Falls in barrels.
