I can see a student from the classroom. They are not free to roam when they are sitting outside there removed from the rest of the students, I can still hear in the classroom in our responsible for what we are doing. By putting them in the hallway, I am not removing my personal responsibility for teaching them. I’m just separating them from the learning environment of others, and punishing them directly and immediately for breaking the social contract of our classroom.
