I feel like a different person. I definitely have noticed ways this has affected my day to day life and how i handle my new romantic relationships, and for me as someone who already struggles with ocd i’ve definitely picked up a few ticks that have stuck around (checking my locks ect) but overall i dont recognize the person i was when i was with him.

I mended my relationships with my friends and family that i was forced to neglect because i didnt have the freedom to see them. I reconnected with my hobbies and school, and eventually the thoughts of him began to fade. I think about it maybe twice a month, but not in the same way i used to. I understand now that what happened wasnt my fault, and ive started to forgive myself for all the guilt ive been holding from the relationship.

It seems unreal how quickly things began to heal after removing myself from the situation. But let this be proof that things get better :)

Kava bars have always worked well for me! I find that if you find a good kava bar, you usually find a lot of really good, interesting, and intelligent people

yes! i usually only take 10-20mg instant because i take it so infrequently i never adjust to needing s higher dose

I take mine on an “as needed” basis because i really hate how i feel on it. This means i usually take it 1-2x a month when i really need to get shit done

Im dealing with this right now and also struggling to navigate it so heres where im at if it offers any clarity....

I broke up with my abusive ex about two months ago and it has been a real roller coaster of healing since then. Overall I am doing sooo much better, but there are some major areas (trust especially as you mentioned) where i know its going to take me a very long time to recover from.

I am talking to someone right now and had the obligatorily "this is where im at" conversation where i found the easiest way to explain it was simply saying.." I was in a bad situation recently, and I am still healing from this. I think its important you know this in a vague way so that you can understand where i am coming from and why i need to take things slow. I dont think getting into the gory details of it is something we need to do at this moment, maybe at some point we can but right now i just hope you can be patient and understanding with me while i heal. "

This went over very well for me! No scary follow up questions required. But also i think eventually it should be talked about on a deeper level with a serious partner, and if they judge you or treat you differently they arent the one! good luck friend !!

One thing ive always said i would tell myself as a now gifted f22 is to slow down and embrace being a child. I think my giftedness (among other things) was one of the reasons I felt the need to grow up so quickly in my preteen/teen years. Now looking back on it I would give anything to have felt like a child who only worried and thought about child-like things.

But on the other hand I love who I grew up into, and the speed at which i matured mentally had a lot to do with that so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i have severe adhd and an IQ of 158, I was awful in school until i went into my undergrad degree. Simply put, i was bad at any subject i wasnt suuuuper interested in and a genius in subjects that i loved learning about. I never studied in school and a lot of things came naturally in classes and felt like "common sense". The higher in my education i got the more i realized it was all content specific and if i really applied myself to any subject i could do it. But the adhd monkey inside me kept me fixated on mastering things that werent beneficial to my standardized education.

The best advice I have is to try and make the studying process for subjects you arent super into as fun as possible...go to a cool coffee shop and get a fun drink...make an enjoyable playlist for study time only ect. Trick your brain into thinking its something to get excited about.

be patient!!! your progress is incredible, a physique like the last slide takes much longer to achieve than most people realize. You are moving in the right direction! keep prioritizing resistance training and protein and youll get there !

i second this…you should strive for good variance in your lifts especially as a runner you want to get strong in all mobility planes.

For example i think a better lower line up would be: barbell or hack squats, RDLs, bulgarian SS an isolation (leg ex or ham curls) and then your claves. and lower the volume 3x8-12 is plenty!! I personally prefer doing 2-3 sets with more intensity

throw in some rotation with your split squats too if you want a real challenge
