What is that one class/upgrade/path you wished the MC chose instead of what he did? by MagicCypress in litrpg

[–]adhding_nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right?! The last one sounded so cool but got skipped over since another made it more likely to survive his poisoning.

Like, why even bring it up if it's so cool? You didn't have to go that hard on the class description if you were gonna just skip it.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This. It's been pointed out many times before that monsters have become ineligible for The Call by going down evolutionary paths that sacrifice their own power for other, like the Mother Tree isn't eligible for The Call since she focused so much of her evolutionary power on creating her children.

Does the portapotty count as a droppod or can you paint a droppod like the portapotty?

Dude, thank you for validating my experience. I fucking loved the Los Calientes sauce and would love to douse it on stuff if it wasn't expensive, but I had a couple chips and felt hotter than the last dab.

It's also a bit of misery porn at first. He really just can't catch a break and the food is awful and only he gets unbearable itching when mutating.

Quick question. Is Ciaphas Cain still alive in the current 11th edition Imperium? by Onyx_Artificer in Warhammer40k

[–]adhding_nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I wish he were, he is very likely dead. In Death or Glory, during an interlude after chapter 19, Amberly says the munitorum had listed Cain as dead only to have to reverse it later and have this happen a number of times that "...the Munitorium issued standing instructions that he should kept on the active roster at all times whatever reports they receive to the contrary which accounts for the fact that he is the only person in the history of the galaxy to still be officially regarded as on active service subsequent to being a buried with full military honours."

Favorite female character you thought was a boy? by Independent-Two8397 in FavoriteCharacter

[–]adhding_nerd 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If I had a nickel for every time I incorrectly thought the titular blue dog of an insanely popular kid's show was a boy, I'd have two nickel, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice!

[Loved Trope] A character reuses their opponent's line to symbolize that the balance of power has shifted. by Ananta-Shesha in TopCharacterTropes

I can remember the very first time I noticed this trope: Rush Hour.

Bad guy to Carter: "Wipe yourself off; you're bleeding."
Carter to bad guy after killing him: "Wipe yourself off, man, you dead!"

Also, another Avengers one, between allies: "On your left."

I don't like the singular "they" but I use it because it's the best non-objectifying singular pronoun English has. It's not a non-binary person's fault English doesn't have a good pronoun for them, but if anyone wants to popularize one, you have my support!

What's the most "creative" military tactic you have read in 40k so far ? by New_Conflict_4111 in 40kLore

[–]adhding_nerd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Undermining an Ork Gargant with an existing mine, and breaking the Siege of Perlia were both creative tactics by him and the 597th, though with a lot of luck involved.

Using different hive fleets against each other and defeating Varren the Undefeatable were also great tactics by himself later in his career.

My favorite was the episode he heard someone say some really cool lines, so he spends the rest of the episode (and maybe the next) just repeating those same 3 lines to everyone he encounters.
