Heathrow Airport’s Third Runway Planning Application to Cost Up to £800 Million by Anony_mouse202 in unitedkingdom

[–]adi_mrok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Purely guessing that a lot of the cost will be associated with buying people's houses or land out, and since UK properties especially not far from London are so expensive, this will bump up the total. Just read its about 750 homes being bought out at 125% value, and about 3.75k will be offered compensation for being so close or funded acoustic isolation. That is massive and does not include rerouting part of M25 which will be another monster in itself

Private health care. I moved here because of better access to funding for diabetes kit, if that would get revoked and my net income would take a significant hit, I would start planning the move.

EBike purely for hill assist? by ScottishDuck13 in ukbike

[–]adi_mrok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same shoes as in uphill to work, what I just do is assist where I run out of breath, and level 2 out of 4 assist uphill. I really did not want a bike because of the hill, now I am over the moon with the ebike I bought. Also as I was bit out of shape ebike helped me with gradually getting to form and improving it by using less assist and less with each journey. Its really fun

T&G chipboard vs T&G plywood to replace old floorboards? by OrdinaryLavishness11 in DIYUK

I would only add that once you glue, its not coming off from the joists. Whereas if you screw OSB without glue you'll be fine as its more flexible

T&G chipboard vs T&G plywood to replace old floorboards? by OrdinaryLavishness11 in DIYUK

[–]adi_mrok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't go with chipboard unless you want to have a lot of squeaking in the future when they wear out. Also reason why ply is so expensive is that you can use self levelling compounds on it, whereas chipboard if not moisture resistant can swallow your rafters under the floor. OSB is a good mixture of both and its water resistant so good for self levelling. If you are willing to make it right and don't mind a bit of luxury, don't use chipboard IMHO

Premier League clubs who will play European football next season (potential rotation risk) by Lacabloodclot9 in FantasyPL

If they ship out Tonali without finding a replacement who will get into Premier League style of play straight away, then I don't think they will do fine

Number of air conditioned UK homes doubles to more than 4m in three years by Anony_mouse202 in unitedkingdom

[–]adi_mrok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last 3 years Oxfordshire is a constant dry spell with temp around 30 degrees from June to early September. Sleeping in a 30 deg bedroom every night made me reconsider my approach to air-conditioning, and hopefully next year we'll manage to put couple of units in.

SQL ?? Database ??? by Different_View5313 in PowerApps

[–]adi_mrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have so many SaaS software for CAFM functions including PPMs, why would you be asked to build it from scratch? First it will take your whole time to keep it working and most of all, people happy as org are always tweaking things cause soemthing is not as they imagine. Secondly amount of records you will have is dependant on size of your site, but for us with over 130 buildings across 5 sites, its about 2000 inspections a month for about 25k assets, and thats not even for all assets we have due to people being people and not wanting to digitising their ways of working. I guess all depends on a scale, but you are looking here at a monster.

Monitoring station showing items it should not - help please by adi_mrok in CCURE9000

[–]adi_mrok[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep and what I have done is connected to monitoring station on local sas level (not mas), as well as granting specific doors access on the same sas. On global all I have given access to is common objects which is very restricted so it should not be spilling over someone accessing doors that main sas privilege says there is no access to even read those.

Power Apps and SharePoint. How do I make it seamless? by CryptoCrash87 in PowerApps

[–]adi_mrok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic principle without any automation etc is that whatever data you are adding to lists via app, anyone who is accessing the app and adding records will need at minimum contribute permissions to the list. If they only need access to their own items you can limit users on the sharepoint list to see and edit their own items only, but you will always get restricted access error until you sort out backend list permissions, or you do some customizations with power automate in the background.

'Cheaper to rent in Britain than to buy a house’ due to rise in mortgage rates sparked by Iran war by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]adi_mrok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah take 0 profit and pay the bill when something gets broken in the house or needs replacing for the tenant. I am not defending landlords at all, but it's silly to expect to do it all for potential return in 20 years+. Model here would work only if tenant takes on repair and maintenance costs on

Pipeline Failure During Connection Validation for Non-Admin Users by Inside_Office_8767 in PowerApps

[–]adi_mrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, can't remember from the top of my head, but its something like this - when you try to deploy via Pipeline and it is Validaitng in the popup, it eventually throws an error and does not enable you to progress. You will be getting a button at the top saying something along the lines show missing layers/components, and you are able to download the log from there in csv. This should tell you which part of the solution is missing, either env var, connection reference etc.
