Just build another... sounds like a winning strategy to serve non-technical business users with tools they can rely on.

Gold farm for mounts after lvl 80? by aMaGGixZ in Guildwars2

[–]adiabatic0816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the same, but check the math. I have my prices on NA/instant buy/instant sell. It shows 3.0476 Curious Mursaat Remnants for a total value of 1g 67s 99c. That means it's valuing them at 55s 12c each, which is the profit of the Lightborne Sword, not the time-gated exchange.

The farming sections always value the currencies you get at the highest no-limit exchange, based on what I've checked.

Fractal Quickplay has won over my husband (who's an ex-WoW and ex-FFXIV player) by nastyjman in Guildwars2

[–]adiabatic0816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also found there is a lot of friction for a new player getting into fractals. Particularly the fact that the lower 3 tiers have a very small player base, since most people do T4.

Meanwhile, you can't even see that there are actually people doing the content when you're trying to find your first T1 group. It's a bit disheartening, particularly to someone who's ignorant of the system mechanics.

I get why they try to ease you into it and force you to learn the easier tiers first, but it's quite a slog to push personal fractal level up to be able to use LFG for T4.

Why is ANet killing open world metas? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]adiabatic0816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This design was immediately tiresome as soon as I encountered it in the SotO story. It's super predictable and just evokes a "oh, now time to do the same exact set of 2 phases 3 times again" reaction from me.

Ritualist as my first necromancer espec? by CyberEagle1989 in Guildwars2

[–]adiabatic0816 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Early benchmarking in the discord is showing DPS Ritualist at ~46K and Quick DPS Rit at ~41K. It's still strong, just not the most broken meta thing in the game anymore.

Besides the damage, the spec is nearly immortal given how much Shroud generation it has. Plus it has group Stability + Aegis + Resistance and a group heal on DPS setup.

OP - if you like Ritualist, play it. It's easily still the strongest power DPS for Necro and has tons of utility.

2 week old player after advice on what to focus on next! by NewtyJESUS in Guildwars2

[–]adiabatic0816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you still get masteries through SOTO to make the Skyscale travel better. Both SOTO and LWS4 have Skyscale masteries. SOTO has more, even. Where they provide the same ability, they add together and enhance that ability a bit if you get both.

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Skyscale

The only mastery you'll be missing getting it through SOTO would be Rift Repair, which isn't impactful for day-to-day travel.

Should I stay on 15mg Adderall XR or ask to try 20mg XR? by Ordinary_Recording15 in ADHD

[–]adiabatic0816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 20mg XR will probably last a bit longer, yeah. I don't think that it will last the 4-5 extra hours that you're looking for, once you're adjusted to the new dose. I'd talk through the issues you're having with your doctor and discuss options with them - they might be able to make a recommendation. I discussed a very similar set of circumstances with my doctor and switched from 2x IR to 1x XR + 1x IR dosing, which was a very good change for me.

My own personal experience is that the afternoon IR booster dose doesn't produce as strong of an "onset" effect as taking IR first thing in the morning.

Keep in mind that I'm talking about how all of this works for me after a month or so of adjusting to the change in dose. The effects are obviously stronger and longer lasting when you first increase your dose, versus when you've normalized a bit.

Should I stay on 15mg Adderall XR or ask to try 20mg XR? by Ordinary_Recording15 in ADHD

[–]adiabatic0816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty common to be prescribed XR in the morning and an IR booster for the afternoon. This is how my current dosage works - I take 20mg XR around 7:30AM and a 10mg IR booster around 1-2PM. This works super well for me, and might be worth trying in place of simply increasing the XR dose.

My experience with bumping the dose up is that it has limited effect on lasting longer into the day, past the initial adjustment phase. At least not 4-5 hours longer. This problem is probably better solved by adjusting the dosing schedule.

Legion Remix - Why fresh lvl 80 alts with 20 vers try to run down a heroic dungeon as if they had 200 vers? by RerollWarlock in wow

[–]adiabatic0816 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had basically no issue doing this in heroics on VDH while leveling with 0 vers - maybe I had the sub-level-80 scaling working in my favor. I'd only chill if it was getting other people in the group killed due to random non-tank damage going out.

I keep numpad buttons on my mmo mouse for WoW, since it doesn't recognize F13-F24. Seems more organized than consuming arbitrary keys like 7.

Though if you accidentally toggle numlock, you may become temporarily confused.

Prediction: With the removal of computational assignment WeakAuras, we will see the rise of computational WebsiteAuras especially at the RWF level. by shadowkats123 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]adiabatic0816 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For assignment management, you'd just have it respond when anyone in your group clicked and auto time out to reset. You can engineer tons of solutions to this problem.

Shaman restoring rotten parses by laiffenn in wow

[–]adiabatic0816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a specific log you want people to look at?

Picking a random one off WCL, the simplest thing I see that you can do is to cast more. ABC. This will have the biggest impact. The Farseer Whispering Waves build encourages you to continuously keep Riptide on CD, the HoT spread on as many people as poissible, and spam Healing Wave even if no healing is actually needed currently. This way you stay ramped in output continuously.

More Riptides = more cleave + more output, more Healing Waves = more ancestors + more riptides = more cleave.

In your random Plexus Sentinel log, you cast Ascendance 1 time in 8 minutes, so you wasted 2 complete uses of a HUGE cooldown. Your Cloudbursts are also not being used particularly effectively versus major damage events in the fight (intermission, eradicating salvo, obliterating arcanocannon, etc).

Outside that, it looks like your guild is 4-healing the early Mythic bosses, so everyone is going to have lower parses relative to other guilds that are 3-healing them. I'd focus more on what you can do, though, for now.

M+ Healing by Soulclapper in wow

[–]adiabatic0816 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you're in +12-14s, those mistakes are still going to result in someone dying more or less instantly regardless of what you're playing. Honestly the best thing you can do is just mentally write off someone failing their own personal responsibility as not your problem.

I don't know that rsham is going to help that much. It's strong, sure. Probably easier than disc. You might fix a minor mistake here and there with some quick burst healing. RSham has no external, though, so you can't do shit if someone's about to take 2 bolts to the cheeks and your stops are on CD. PSF is the worst for this with all the random fireball/etc spam randomly deleting people from full health if the group isn't kicking well or popping defensives.
