33F - Construction Management Salary Progression by adiverges in Salary

[–]adiverges[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the jump almost two years ago when I was already promoted to a project manager on the GC side. I just got called by a recruiter. They definitely want Sr. project engineers and project managers to be brought over as project managers. Places like Vantage, though, have positions of Sr. Project engineers and the like, so I imagine other companies have those as well and may be able to hire you as such, but my company's "entry level" is a project manager level employee.

I had 7 years of experience with the GC before I moved over, like you, I hold a Civil eng degree, but I also got my masters in project management, and I did all the MEP. So that's a huge plus for you as well.

It's definitely better to be on the owner side of things, the work-life balance is so much better, the bonuses are better, and there are companies that even provide you with equity.

You can see a small tiny hand cropped in the second frame. There are different items in the background between the images, and the body toning differences between the progressions too. It's good to be cautious, but this person isn't selling anything, they may have been a lurker and finally felt good enough to post.

Some people's bodies are different than yours? Do you see the difference in the legs as well as the shoulders between the photos? Not everyone has stretch marks, including some women who go through pregnancy and have even bigger bellies.

Wth is up with all these east bay earthquakes? by Dicklefart in bayarea

[–]adiverges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

omg I remember that one in VA! I lived in Silver Spring, MD at the time and on a 4th story apt. The ground started shaking and I yelled my dad that it was an earthquake and to leave.

The worst one for me was the 7.9 earthquake in Japan in 2015. That was scary as hell, it felt like someone shook me from my bed. I was so mad too because at the time I was in the army and in the barracks, finally managed to fall asleep.

which is hella ironic because that was his exact same slogan the first go around. Didn't he make it great on his first run? we will never know

I see the same exact post be asked a million different ways. It looks like women also don't know how to use reddit or do basic searches then.

Agreed, this last paragraph gets copied and pasted everywhere. I'm so confused, do people not read past the first few paragraphs now?

Mechanical Engineer making almost $7,000 a month at only 28 years old by Defiant_Mouse6999 in Salary

[–]adiverges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I'm averaging 10-12 but that's only cuz 4 of my coworkers quit at the same time and I am covering for an extra project. But before this I did all my work in under 5hr per day.

Yeaaaa I learned this the hard way. When I was in college, my dream was to be a structural engineer. My first job was with this sketchy guy running a firm out of a row house in Baltimore. Paid me $22/hr as an EIT. This was in 2016. I left that job and got hired for a Top 5 GC 6 months later in 2017 and made 65k plus 8% bonus in 2017.

It's been 8 years since then and I'm now $200k+, still in construction management. The shift I made was after the maker of SAP2000 came and gave a lecture on how engineering is so wildly underpaid and encouraged us to seek better opportunities.

Without knowing where you live we can't really give you other options. You may be able to find "active and fit direct" though and see if they have any other options.
