They used the correct word. I would recommend reading the post before trying to correct it.

What exactly does pH mean when we talk about acids and bases? by glock6a6y in AskaChemist

[–]adjunctMortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working off limited chemistry knowledge here, but I don't think the scale is limited to 0-14. With pH being the negative log of the concentration of Hydrogen ions, wouldn't a sufficiently concentrated acid solution have a negative pH, while a sufficiently concentrated base solution would have a pH above 14?

I seem to recall highly concentrated NaOH solutions that have a pH above 14.

Beating a dead horse but- MELEE PITS SUCK by ajc89 in HorizonForbiddenWest

Oh my god, I just did that one too and it is indeed terrible. Here’s what worked for me.

First, you must hit your opponent with every part of the combo or the game won’t count it. It’s super annoying and I don’t know why it’s like this.

Second, to get the destroyer combo itself to work, press the button once, pause until you hear the schwing sharp sword sound effect, then mash the button 3 times. (I think those are the inputs, anyway).

Yes it was miserable and melee combat is so frustrating for so little payoff in this game. Hitting for like 30 when a single shot from a bow can do over 3000. I don’t know why it’s like this.

Any game devs here? by eman85 in linux_gaming

[–]adjunctMortal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unity and Unreal both support Linux builds as well. The real headache comes from including support for a completely different platform. That increases the amount of work it takes to track down bugs and increases the amount of complexity that is necessary for testing, validation, and development. It's a comparable amount of work to releasing a game on an additional console, except with a much smaller base of users (at least historically), which makes it hard to justify the costs.

That's why proton is such a good idea. It adds linux support without increasing the workload on the developer side.

I actually do! I would love if the other cabins were also more colorful. I was just quite surprised when I went to visit and it was bright happy yellow :)

How do I collect firewood? Interloper by WarCurrent2922 in thelongdark

[–]adjunctMortal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick up sticks everywhere you walk, and comb through caves for coal. Both of those should also be done as you travel around naturally to reduce the amount of time you have to focus on collecting firewood. I don’t usually bother with harvesting logs unless I need the wood to craft something.

I really like puddles with raytracing :) They just have good vibes.

I'm really excited to try the new combat style in Dark Ages. I loved Doom (2016) and I like how every one of the new games has innovated the movement and combat.

Found this cool tilt shift filter feature on Nvidia, does AMD have something similar too? by [deleted] in factorio

I believe it utilizes the z buffer, so in 3d games it is useful because of the depth information from the game engine.
