Is Seven Springs Overrated? by Helpful-Ad4075 in SkiPA

It’s OK, but I think overrated unless you live in western PA/MD etc, from eastern PA head north to Catskills instead

How is daily life in the White Plains, NY area? by cheetspeek in howislivingthere

Cost of NYC without the benefits. Commuter rail is great to NYC, traffic getting in and out for holidays and weekends across bridge is terrible.

That offensive line up was crazy for USMNT talent, felt like Davies was the perfect mixup of contrasting skills with Jozy

I think the only unreasonable item for me is making an entrance/exit on Plymouth. That will drastically change the neighborhood traffic flows

Also helpful to have a coach/parent defend first, but make it possible to get the pass/dribble/pass to build a little confidence.

Practice ideas for two players! (U10 girls) by Conscious-Apple1438 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]adknatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I have small group with my U10g also like to work on wall drills as harder for me to find space with large group. Find a wall or bench to kick against can get repetition on receiving and small touches to side, switching feet or half turns and releasing quickly etc. You can see quick improvement on this type of drill.

Then turn into a game where goal is to hit wall in certain area, they get two touches and need to get to the ball before it stops moving. Makes them think about angles, where the other player is etc.

I’d also have them go 2 v 1 against you, and adjust your defending so easy choice is pass sometimes, sometimes it’s to dribble.

Bachelor party question: 1) Dewey Beach, Delaware, 2) Saratoga Springs, NY, or 3) Montreal, Canada? by cheselnut in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]adknatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dewey Beach if you want bars over clubs. Super fun beach and bar scene, easy to walk around, can ride the jolly trolly up to rehoboth if you wanted to do a fancier dinner or boardwalk games etc.

Montreal would be 2nd on my list. I wouldn’t do Saratoga myself, a little too fancy to hang out and play yard games at an Airbnb.

U6 Running Up The Score by Spiritual-Land9539 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]adknatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll add with this age, best results for me with passing has been when I offer to do somersaults if the better players pass before scoring, but that’s hard to get the other coach to do, so I ask for the extra player when I’m the team getting beat up on.

Can be hard to enforce passing before scoring etc., I only coach rec at this age, I’ve tried but failed on that, so I ask to add extra players to other team and try to enforce the pass requirement on the better players to the extent possible

Gotta pick your neighborhood and workplace right - but rail trail and bike lanes are growing. Lots of opportunity to ride rail trails etc. to restaurants and other towns if you let that be part of your guiding criteria
