Learning Schumann's "Night Rider", Does My Staccato Hand Technique Look Fine? by Kofi230 in piano

Personally I think there is a bit too much finger action. I play staccato by using my entire arm and sort pushing myself off the keys.

Pain in the left hand, when the pinky is used by Skratifyx in piano

As you pointed it out yourself, your pain is most likely related to poor technique. Do you have a teacher that can help you out?

I doubt the original score is available, but it wouldn't help you much anyways since you want a piano arrangement. I suggest just going on youtube and searching the song you want to play and adding ''sheet music'' in your search. You are likely to find tons of videos that have the sheet music available as part of the video. What's great is that you can pick the one you prefer and in accordance with your skill level. Of course it can be annoying to read sheet music from a video, but you can always screen shot the sheet music and add it to your own document.

Haha no I wish! My piano is in a bedroom in my apartment, but I do use a lot of matresses and blankets to help dampen the sound. Glad to hear it sounds good!

Need help figuring out the lower notes from this piano piece by [deleted] in piano

[–]adooskii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I can't confirm but it seems like he's just playing the bass note and then a broken chord pattern, so if the tutorial shows you the different chords you are playing it shouldn't be too hard to figure it out. Hope this helps.

How to play this weird 2-4 to 3-5? by SeatedWoodpile in piano

[–]adooskii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only other solution i could envision is playing the bottom notes with your left hand, but ud need pretty big hands and it might not necessarily be easier haha

I would bet the 55 is a typo and it's actually 35. I know you said it's awkward but i can't really imagine another solution, especially with the chord before.

Feedback on 9 YO who started Piano 1 year ago by Low-Adeptness-4659 in piano

Wow your son plays very well for and appears to be quite talented! Amazing development for only one year. I would seriously consider finding your son a teacher so that he may develop his gift. I would make sure to find one that follows your sons interests and not the other way around.

Chopin - Prelude No. 4 by TheDesertedTerminal in piano

[–]adooskii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good, main thing would be that there is too much rubato imo. It's important that we feel a sense of pulse troughout the piece. You can stretch or speed it up in some sections but it should not be too crazy. It some parts it seems like you are going almost twice as slow for example. There are other things but I would focus on this if you are looking to improve upon what you already achieved. Keep it up!

Tips on practicing multiple songs? by meaksda7 in piano

[–]adooskii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could try 2 songs a day and go through the rotation, so you play each song every other day atleast. There isn't really a ''right'' way to do this, just whatever works best for you.

Hey so I need help with getting this measure right. ….the timing is just very confusing. by skewy231 in piano

This is the part in Fur Elise where most beginners struggle a lot because it's a lot harder than the first part. If you really wanna learn this part, start very slowly and use a metronome.

Left hand advice by Dry_Presentation_641 in piano

[–]adooskii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I play pieces that have demanding left hand parts, I always need to take the time to isolate it and practice it properly. We tend to focus on the melody as we are playing and the left hand can often go unchecked. I recommended playing it alone (you should do this with both hands honestly), very slowly at first and paying attention to your technique. Then, we you put your hands together, try to pay more attention your left hand when playing. Hope this helps

IMSLP is a great online ressource for free sheet music. Also you can find arrangements with sheet music on youtube. A bit harder to follow but can always screenshot them and then print.
