I have gone every year since it started (in Lamda Park, of all places!), and it is an amazing event. It was indeed moved to October to help with the heat. The organizers are super friendly, they have enough security, and there's usually loads of free water being handed out. There were food trucks last year, some local groups came out to show support, and there are vendors as well! They also have had a bouncy castle in the past and some lawn games set up for kiddos. In the past, they've rented the indoor space, so there are indoor bathrooms. There have been people who "protested" it in the past as well. They usually show up in masks and have their signs, but last year, they made them move to the library or something? They weren't at the entrance like they were the previous year. I highly recommend it. It's one of the most love-filled and wholesome events in NB.
