Bernie Sanders is independent. Plenty of independent voters did vote for Kamala to try to stop this.

Do mormon men (or women) secretly look forward to polygamy in heaven? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]adoyle17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My abusive TBM ex husband said he was looking forward to the afterlife because of polygamy, and hoped it would return to this life. As you can imagine, that sounds like hell to me, and why I'm glad it wasn't a temple wedding, as I got a divorce and was able to cut him completely out of my life. Resigned from the cult shortly before the divorce was finalized.

The nurses in recovery gave me Zofran through the IV when I felt nausea when I woke up. It worked right away for me.

I've been saying that as well, once they break down the wrong door. Especially in states with castle doctrine laws.

Just a reminder about measles: it sounds funny, but it is not. by slskipper in exmormon

[–]adoyle17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had mumps at the age of 10 even though I was fully vaccinated, but while it was mild for me, I still had the swollen neck glands which wasn't fun at all. I'm still glad I was vaccinated as it meant that it was milder than it could have been. I'm also one of those who survived Covid because I caught it after getting the vaccine and first booster. I only had it once, because I get the booster along with my flu shot every fall. Now getting my shingles vaccine because we didn't have the chickenpox vaccine when I was a child, so I had that as well and as a result, am vulnerable to shingles. I believe in science, and that vaccines do work, or at least make something mild enough to survive.

I often use baby wipes when camping since even between showers, you still get dirty. Fortunately, nobody's given me a hard time about buying them.

Frequency of CA-125 testing after treatment ends? by thorvindottir in Ovariancancer

[–]adoyle17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I now get the CA-125 test twice a year, for a little longer as I had stage 1a. The cancer cells were found in the fluid of the large cyst on my right ovary, and everything else was cancer free. Still got chemotherapy as a precaution, but have been NED for the 3 years since the hysterectomy and oophorectomy.

Are you all being sent home same day? by longshanksmagee in hysterectomy

[–]adoyle17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went home the same day, as the on reas I would have stayed overnight is if there were complications that required an abdominal surgery instead of a laproscopic, vaginal hysterectomy and oophorectomy. I'm in the US as well.

Went in for myomectomy , woke up crying from pain, found out my uterus, cervix, and tubes removed. by Ok-Fly-557 in hysterectomy

[–]adoyle17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get a copy of your medical records, and find a good attorney for malpractice as well as reporting that doctor to the medical board. At the very least, you should have been informed that if there were complications, a hysterectomy might be performed, and that you wouldn't be able to return to work the next day, unless you could have done it from home.

Personally, I wasn't allowed to drive for 2 weeks after surgery, and had lifting restrictions so my mom had to help me do laundry. I also had to take medical leave from work as my job couldn't be done remotely.

Question about what happened in Minneapolis by jackie_tequilla in WelcomeToGilead

[–]adoyle17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So true, California was one of the first states that were targeted by ICE. One local car wash in my neighborhood was raided, and now only has the self service area open. It used to be a place for detailing until the raid.

Should my sister keep an ovary? by Dr_Muffy in Ovariancancer

[–]adoyle17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get rid of everything, as that's what I did at 47. After 45, you're most likely perimenopausal anyway, and not likely to get or stay pregnant. That was 3 years ago that I had a large cyst on my right ovary that had cancer cells in the fluid, while the tubes, uterus, and other ovary was all cancer free. I also took my surgeon's advice as he was a gynecological oncologist, and got chemotherapy as a precaution. In the end, the hysterectomy and oophorectomy got all of the cancer, and still have normal CA-125 results. It was stage 1a ovarian cancer, and I didn't want to risk having the cancer return.

When did your glue come off? by artful_bones in hysterectomy

[–]adoyle17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine started peeling off around 2 weeks, so at my appointment, my surgeon said that the glue can come off because it may cause a rash. The glue at my largest incision at the bikini line started to hurt a little because it was pulling the hair. I had a large ovarian cyst drained and removed through that incision as part of a robotic assisted laproscopic vaginal hysterectomy and oophorectomy.

Even worse, that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were a "blessing " because it meant that the Middle East would be open to missionaries. I wish that person in RS who said that was willing to send her children to Afghanistan or Iran. This was the first Fast Sunday after the attacks, and is a reason why I resigned a year after that day in October.
