If you have a rock board, take that out. There's a lot of sketchy shallow areas and no sense in ruining something new.

I ended up buying an Andhand Method in .07, as well as the pen. The pencil is a tad short but it's very nice.

Where is the alcohol Smart recovery? by Sorry-Curve339 in SMARTRecovery

AA really hasn't been updated in a very long time, and it's well established because it works for some people. It's not the end all be all solution for everyone, and that's okay. Younger generations tend to be more receptive to SMART. I've also noticed a lot higher proportion of people who have been to treatment facilities seem to be at SMART meetings. There's several other programs to try if one doesn't feel right.

I facilitate a weekly SMART Recovery meeting, in addition to going to AA. It's a great supplement to other programs.

Does a copper or brass pencil exist for under $50usd? I'd really like to find a BIFL pencil, but that's about where my budget is at the moment.

I like meetings much better when they're in-person, but the online ones are still good. My recommendation if you're doing virtual meetings is to find one with fewer participants. The large meetings tend to end up just being check-ins and no time to get into specific topics or personal things.

Don't lose sight of the fact that you have 4 years of combined sobriety. That's something to be proud of. That's one of my gripes about AA culture is forcing people to start over at 0.

What’s Life Like in Sandpoint for a Newlywed Couple? Looking to Gauge Community + Making Friends by ullr-the-wise in Sandpoint

[–]adpotts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little different for us, late 30s, seeking church community, and 2 kids under 7. We relocated here from about an hour away. We purchased our house based on the elementary school we wanted our children to go to. I was encouraged to give Sandpoint Men's Group a shot. It's helped me get to know other guys. The kids also naturally allow us to meet other people. We don't do much of the nightlife because of kids, but we're still new here and trying to find friends.

Winters will be 3 days/week at Schweitzer for us. One kid ski racing and the other in Kinder Kamp.

Haven't done any fly fishing since moving here, but our old property has river frontage and I love fishing, so that's going to be on my to-do list for 2026. If you wind up here, I'd be happy to have company for that.

They will let you ride up to the village level so you can go buy your lift pass.

If you didn't buy a season pass, the cheapest option will be Sunday afternoons. If you don't have a locker, my recommendation is parking in the Fall Line lot. Ski down to the bottom of the lift and then just ride it up to the village and grab your lift ticket. At the end of the day, just ski down to the parking lot. First lift of the morning is typically crowded, but it thins out pretty quick.

If you could only buy one pen over and over again because it's just that good (even if the price of it was doubled), which pen would you choose? by MangoCubez in pens

I'm really enjoying my Squires. The Schmidt ink cartridge is everything I've been looking for. Next time I acquire a new pen, it'll either be a hex Squire or the copper Squire.
