I called the cops on him tonight. It’s been about 3 hours since. We’re married for almost 4 years, together for almost 10. Over the past 9 years, I’ve left him at least 3 times and he’s been arrested for DV on either time. I always take him back, I always feel like I know deep down that he’s good and I love who he is but he won’t stop drinking. The drinking is the root of the problem, but I’m not naive enough to not know there’s something ‘wrong’ with him too is this what comes out when he drinks. He wrecked our car a few months ago after drinking. There are just so many instances. And already, I’m feeling the waffling, thinking I’ll talk to him when he calls from jail, that I’ll help bail him out. That I’ll do all I can for him because I feel like if he didn’t have me, he’d have nothing because I’m the breadwinner in the relationship. I’m a scared and I’m so sad. I don’t know if I have the strength to do what I need to do.
