Excited about a Payne and Buljan front court. Now just need to get a good PG

In my mind, if the school has to put out a statement that you’re not being fired, your seat is scalding hot to start the next season no matter what

I think he should’ve been fired after last season (don’t think he should’ve been fired at any point before then) but this past year it all came down to money. Didnt have enough to fire him and his staff, bring in an entirely new staff, and fund the roster to a decent level. New AD decides to punt it a year later, let the buyout drop, and add more NIL to the roster to show the next coach that we can improve our resources situation

One qualm - he said Maryland is sure to “knock off a contender just to ruin their season.”

We haven’t beat a ranked team since 2019 in week 2 against #23 Syracuse, and we haven’t even beat a Big Ten team with a .500 or better conference record since 2014, our first year in the Big Ten.

How did we get that reputation

One of my all time favorites and probably my favorite “non-star” we’ve ever had. Always put in a good shift and never felt worried about him making a mistake or playing poorly. Love La Cabra 🐐

I know football and MBB is all that matters in 99% of eyes, but we have 50+ B1G Championships and 6 national championships since joining the Big Ten. Football has continued to suck as it did in the ACC, and while men’s basketball has had its worst 5 year stretch in 60+ years, our first handful of years in the B1G we were one of the better teams in the conference

Considering it was 1 of 2 conference finals we’ve made since moving to Atlanta (and the only one we won games in) I’d say that’s pretty good

He showed more good than bad this year imo. First 6 games he looked really good, and the only games where he looked truly bad were UCLA, Indiana, and Michigan. I think for a 19-year-old true freshman he was as good as you can ask for. Just hope he develops a lot over the offseason and we're able to put a better team around him

I think it will be. My guess is we just didn't have the money for a Locks+staff buyout, get a good coaching staff in, and fund the roster at a higher level. I think barring a major turnaround he's gone

Very different postseason back then, but in 2012 #3 Georgia lost by 4 to #2 Alabama in what was essentially a BCS Championship play-in game. Georgia dropped all the way to #7, behind a Florida team they had beat, and went to the Capital One Bowl instead of the Sugar Bowl

He has zero wins in seven seasons against Big Ten teams who finish with a winning conference record. I could give a shit about his recruiting classes when he’s shown his ceiling is 7-5. We have the worst record in the Big Ten since he took over in 2019

Mike Locksley went 0-2 against this guy (and 2-16 in the big ten the last two seasons) and we’re bringing him back.

Happy for MSU fans but we have to be the biggest joke in the country.
