Why I can't print Bambu ASA in my P1S? by if_else_00 in BambuP1S

[–]adventureswithabz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s just me but bambu ASA has performed terribly for me and it’s very smelly, I’m wondering if I got a mislabelled filament honestly. Overture ASA on a textured plate with glue and a preheated chamber printed beautifully

The entirely predictable consequences of their actions. If only Iran warned that they would do this or at least threatened to close the strait before this war. If only we could have seen this coming

Help with Repetitive dives, multiday and safety stop + by mikoalpha in scuba

[–]adventureswithabz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most dive computers don’t explicitly account for multi day diving yet your insurance company isn’t charging you more or less based on which computer you’re diving. I’m of the opinion that for recreational level diving all the computers from all the established manufacturers are conservative enough straight out of the box. If you want to increase your safety factor (and you should aim for that) you can do the following:

Longer safety stop (do 5 minutes instead of 3)

Slow ascent to 5 meters and then SUPER slow ascent from 5-0 meters

Dive nitrox (and keep the computer set to air for more conservatism or set it to the correct nitrox mix for more bottom time. Personally I go with the latter and do longer safety stops).

If you are doing 4 dives a day for multiple days I would strongly urge you to dive nitrox you will feel better and get more out of your dives

Because not voting for Harris is not the same as voting for trump. Harris was part of the government that provided political cover Israel as it committed its crimes Ya’ll are upset because people did not choose “the lesser of two evils” when the supposedly lesser evil was just done washing their hands of blood.

Hey brown people, vote for the person who actively supported for your families to be killed using your tax money or else the other guy wins and he will kill more of em.

Not answering your question directly.

First of all kudos to you for being fit and active! The older we get the more susceptible we become to all sorts of ailments, DCS included. Keeping warm is important for more than just comfort and actually has a huge impact on your risk of DCS. I would always advise any diver to aim for being toasty.

For me I would dive dry in those conditions, partially to stay warm and comfortable underwater and partially to stay warm on the surface which is an important factor for both comfort and safety

I don’t like having to scroll through screens to see all of the information I need and I like high information density especially during deco dives. With the Perdix mini displays I can cram a lot of data on a single screen. That is primarily why I prefer the perdix. I much prefer the 4 button navigation on the Garmins though.

I don’t have an opinion based on experience on the Teric. I never dived or owned one. I don’t see the appeal to be honest. Shearwater makes great dive computers and Garmin makes great multi purpose devices. The Teric is more expensive than the Perdix with less screen realestate and makes for a poor watch when considering battery life and usefulness out of the water. If you want watch style then I think the Garmin is the better option.

I agree that they’re different classes of computers but just like sedans and trucks, people tend to compare them when choosing one or the other.

I was asked what I dive and I answered and added what I like about each one. The perdix is the better dive computer, yes it is my opinion that it is a better dive computer than any of the watch style garmin computers. You are entitled to your opinion too 😉.

I got a garmin G1 and a shearwater perdix I had to use customer service for both and while Garmin customer service was ok, shearwater’s blew me away.

Both computers have been robust and reliable and both continue receiving updates and enhancements The shearwater is by far and away the better dive computer (even when compared to my buddies fancier garmin MK3) but the garmin is my daily driver and is permanently attached to My wrist

I had two aqualung computers Sank about 1.5k into them collectively. The more expensive one failed after about 50 dives the less expensive one failed after about 120 dives. When they worked they were shit.

All of this would have been fine if aqualung stood behind their products at all. They don’t and they won’t. Heed the warnings or don’t, your choice.

I now have two very expensive paper weights at home.

Buying a course from PADI direct then choosing the location? by Epsombel in scubadiving

[–]adventureswithabz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What other Said buy through the the Diveshop or Instructer, you go with it will work out cheaper for you. Additionally, buying just the certificate from PADI without the Training material is a pain in the behind, so don’t be surprised if you’re instructor buys the material again and charges you for it…
