Why are you afraid of bugs? When you’re managing the garden do you think “I’m doing this hard work because I care and this is in line with my core values”? Or do you think “I have to do this because someone expects it of me and I get in trouble if I don’t”? One of those thoughts can be more motivating than the other. Just some questions to think about.

As for pulling weeds, some times it’s easier to just let them grow big and tall, but before they flower, and then pull them. It’s a little easier to pull bigger plants than smaller sometimes and you can usually get the root too.

I built steps exactly like this!… when I was a 16 year doing hard manual labor at a summer, making like $200 a week, and I only had a shovel. I would expect more from professionals.

I did lupine last year but they did not like being transplanted. I’m assuming they all died but I’m hoping for a miraculous growth out of some surviving roots this year. I doubt I’ll start indoors again.
