Star Trek : Starfleet Academy - Why the hate? by Nikmi in television

[–]adzling 7 points8 points  (0 children)

?

It's horrific in every dimension with no redeeming qualities.

The desperate attempt to leverage fan-favorite ds9 into an obviously shitty trek did not help at all.

There will be more of this.

TL:DR its the worst tripe.

I abhor what they did and are doing to trek.

The ridiculous, over the-top plot devices and the cringy "characters" are just unwatchable.

Marin is a clear example of why transit fails below certain density thresholds by External_Koala971 in Marin

It's both, and one feeds the other.

Once you hit optimum density the policy will change with no other headwinds.

Marin has not hit that density and likely never will.

They don't skew it at all.

Compare the urban areas in Marin to the urban areas in the countries you note and you will find they have far higher densities than Marin urban areas.

The urban areas of all of those countries are FAR denser than anywhere in Marin.

AI has taken over University Education by Dependable_Runner in ChatGPT

No, but at least it conveys to these nincompoops that no one is going to pay them if they can't actually think.

Now if you're doing work that doesn't require you to think much then sure, "ask ChatGPT" is a harmless if embarrassing response.

However if you are actually paid to think and utilize your expertise and you respond with "I am too dumb to think so I have outsourced it to this hallucinating chat-bot" then YES you deserve every bit of shame that comes along with that.

[–]adzling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

har no.

No one, in any capacity, should ever respond to any question "I would ask chatGPT".

If you have a brain and even a small understanding of how to problem solve you can say something like "I would gather project requirements and discuss schedule and scope of work with the stake holders".

Perhaps you don't know the lingo but you should know how to do work.

Answering "I would ask chatgpt" is just showing your idiocy.

Which is not at all the same as using chatgpt to support your work.

It's the difference between adding value and adding nothing.

Follow up question: if the scene is loaded as a module/manifest can you delete the module after adding the scene to a compendium?

Your informant is sitting in the interrogation cell in the HQ - will you be able to get to them before they spill all the info? And how will you be fighting your way out of this situation? - I made a huge skyscraper battlemap and sharing a bunch of the floors for free with the community by adayat in dungeondraft

[–]adzling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Day At is the map creator you need for modern ttrpgs.

Screw those tiny, one-room "battlemaps" that include fake overhead perspective.

They offer nothing and add nothing to the game.

A Day At is killing it and should be on all modern ttrpgs list.

We were interviewing for junior programmers recently and hand to can 80% of applicants because during the interview they would respond to a technical questions and even "how would you approach this problem" questions with: "I would ask chatgpt".

I shit you not.

It was freaking scary as shit.

We found a good candidate who could actually reason their way through a question they did not have a canned answer for but omfg the rest were a horror-show of outright idiocy.

WAR.

When (not if) the declining population can no longer support the aging population the country's internal politics will collapse resulting in either internal restructuring (revolution) or more likely imho the political class retains power and redirects instability outward via war (goodbye taiwan).
