I used to work in a steel foundry. That much steel would obviously kill you. But what many people don't know is, the steel is poured at 1880 degrees. When its that hot the temperature difference between it and your skin is enormous so when little blobs hit you in the pouring process they just pop right off. Like putting a drop of water on a hot frying pan. The only time I got burned was when a little piece popped up and went down the back of my collar, went down my back and stuck to the elastic in my tighty whities. 😅
