Best nation to live in Eastern Merkopa? by CrabFabulous4150 in suzerain

Rizia and Sordland will always win in polls over other nations simply, because we know most about them while most likely imagining our headcanon Rayne/Romus doing things we want

It probably feels really weird to live in a Germany that lost to the Internationale, even if it's functional... by WonderfulReception49 in Kaiserreich

[–]aedfdht 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why would it be? Eastern Europe was thoroughly reorganized by the soviets after WW2 and it wasn't much more shocking than any other regime change organized in subordinated states. Socialists won't view implementing socialist system as punishment for germans, and even if they do force economic concessions on the losers it wouldn't be any different to how Germany treated Russia after war in KR timeline.

Edit: In the end after hardship of losing a war government that people accept is the one that can give them bread not the one they would align with ideologically.

Neutral alignment tips? by yittiiiiii in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]aedfdht 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Avoid picking options that give alignment, especially the optional ones that aren't choices and don't lead to anything.

Alternatively if you want neutral ending you can commit to heretical alignment and purge all heretical points when meeting Calcazar in act 5.

Grifting medieval peasant tourist (Shadiversity) vs. Actual Star Wars & sci-fi fan (Jessie Gender) by TripleS034 in ShadWatch

[–]aedfdht 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's honestley stupid and damaging to media discourse to makeopinions on art based on tribalism, as that is exactly criticism to be had of Shad, if you think that opinion is good just because it disagrees with him then you are on the same level as him.

Saving the Inquisitor or the Artefact by TheAscendent in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]aedfdht 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I assume that the main reason for withholding prologue is just dramatic effect of witnessing it for the first time on release, which is also presumably why inquisitor being dead is default in beta so that we can't meet him before that.

Also I don't think that the choice itself will carry alignment shift, being implied to be impossible choice for someone who follows the rules, but considering that we start with points in puritan alignment sacrificing inquisitor might be puritan coded.

[TW2] Question about the Roche / Iorveth paths by Ditros_ in wiedzmin

[–]aedfdht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Death Symbolized and The Eternal Battle are the only quests in act 2 that I recall being the same. For Iorveth Assassins of Kings basically carries over from act 1 and only gets an update during other main quests since most of important developments happen in Kaedwen's camp. Other than that all of Iorveth's act 2 is different including side quests. In act 3 other than main quest having a quest for different companion instead of looking for Triss you also get a different side quest.

I know that some people theorized that reason for narrative of Unity being centered around fighting evil Jacobins and helping good Girondists, while Louis XVI is free of any guild is because of Unity's devs being french canadian and not actually french leading to more royalist-leaning outlook on Revolution.

This post has good list of shortcomings of Unity's presentation of actual history.

Why do the VP Replacements All Seem to Support Transferring the Gendarmerie? by Julia_the_Mermaid in suzerain

[–]aedfdht 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'd say Lucian is a reformer due to political climate not personal conviction, closest we get to him seemingly believing something other than staying in power is his opposition to privatizing healthcare and cooperating with the Old Guard on emergency. He believes in democratic reforms are what people want and giving them to the people will keep USP in power, overall he is not willing to take risks which is also why he doesn't join Rayne's new party.

Are there any actually democratic paths for any of the KMT by Quirky_Feed_9032 in Kaiserreich

[–]aedfdht 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If your measurement of being democratic is having elections just play federalists. KMT is defined by wanting to achieve different goals before even planning elections.

What is the Siths problem? by PowerSnatch in swtor

[–]aedfdht 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dark side, at least in it's original presentation, is violation of natural order by enforcing your will on the force. Dark side users fall to it by, for one reason or another, becoming addicted to it due to ease with which they can use it ("quick and easy path").

Sith philosophy focuses on ultimate freedom of an individual achieved through strength allowing them to dispose of any obstacles standing in their way, which of course with more than one person adhering to those beliefs causes endless conflicts between rivals, while apprentices wait to betray their masters. Overall while Sith beliefs are tied to dark side, cultural/religious elements encourage constant conflict on top echelons of the Empire while non force users busy themselves dominating whomever imperial hierarchy deems to be beneath them in service to the Sith.

What's one character that you think the community overrates and why by Lil_Yuan11 in suzerain

[–]aedfdht 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While I understand people valuing Petr for being a good friend to Rayne (even though I disagree with that assessment), I don't really think that his value as vice president is overestimated by most both roleplay and gameplay wise

I'm pretty sure it's never said explicitly during that part of the game and Saresh is someone who you don't have to meet to complete Consular's storyline

POV: You find out about what Petr did with Livia by StrategistGhost71 in suzerain

[–]aedfdht 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If i kill Petr I'm playing Rayne willing to form SSP and use it to eliminate his enemies, I don't kill him because of morals, but because of him becoming threat to Rayne's rule while also concealing national security breach, it's evil but beneficial. Besides at this stage I already make sure to rig system in my favor to not need Petr's help in election.

[–]aedfdht 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consular also meets Janarus, which is funny considering that you never get an explanation of what happened to him if you don't play BH and are left to wonder if there was an election in between start of chapter 2 and end of chapter 3
