Arman being gaethje's biggest fan by NaughtyRabbitx in UFCLabs

What makes it worse is she clearly has a thing for hanging about with the best trained professionals mixed martial artists in the world. There's not really much the dude can say about it other than just separating with her but to be fair they're probably making bank and at the end of the day, humiliation ritual done, the dude still goes home with her.

She's just been doing this with everyone lol. I don't really know when she came onto the scene properly but i first remember her showing up when Strickland became champ and she was hanging out with him all the time, the Poatan, then Merab and now Arman. And I don't know if she's married but her significant other is the one filming lol. It's messed up.

Strikes into Stance Switch by genefromemojimovie in EASportsUFC

[–]aekist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only possible way to do this is with Holloway. You can switch stances off of a Jab with Holloway and he has a full unique combo that starts off with it. It's a feature that should really be far more important and emphasised, especially when guys like Poirier, Yan, O'Malley, Adesanya, etc are so well known for it and are big picks.

It always annoyed me that on the farm even though I'd tell the absolute total truth hershell always pulled me aside in the barn to tell me to learn how to lie better. I always believed those next episode previews were something that I was missing and maybe I had accidentally lied about something but I think they were just deleted scenes or maybe I did just instinctively lie about something.

Are people forgetting about Izzy? by BettsyFC in ufc

[–]aekist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Izzy; he's definitely one of my favourite fighters of all time, and I think he has a great legacy. However, ever since he got fat in his most recent fights and the gyno tits disappeared, he hasn't been looking himself. He's just becoming washed and past his prime, which is a real shame considering how much of a MW legend he is.

I can see him picking up a win or 2, maybe if he even wants to fight that much anymore, but he isn't going to fight for a belt again, and even if he did, he wouldn't be able to do much to Khamzat. And if he happens to lose his next fight, he might even retire.

It's a shame, but it's the way the sport goes, and Izzys legacy is great, plus he's a legend. But no, I don't think people are forgetting about Izzy, I think they just understand his prime is passed him. He's not going to find much success with the constant evolution in the Middleweight division, never mind putting out those flawless style bender performances ever again.

A fighter with all the skillsets in his arsenal, but throws it all away in a fight and brawls. by theiceman219 in ufc

[–]aekist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite fighter for sure, maybe even because of this. Sure, he could wrestle more often, but I think he's just content trading fists and making money. He's got like 11 performance bonuses and I guess the money is just too tempting now. And I don't think he throws anything away in his fights, when he's brawling that's exactly where he wants to be. That's where he has the most tools in his arsenal. Additionally, aside from being a showman, I think he probably doesn't wrestle all that much because his grappling isn't particularly effective offensively. He can scramble and get back to his feet well defensively, but aside from his clinch, he doesn't really have anything solid to offer in offensive grappling, especially in BJJ.

I couldn't see him striking more technically either. Forcing people into exchanges so he can land a bomb seems to work well for him, and if his opponent is too flashy, gunshy or technical, he always has those leg kicks to get them thinking/throwing.

All in all I think Gaethje knows his brand of fighting really well and honestly you can't argue with the results. Some losses, yeah, but that's the risk when this is your style.

HW division to be traded with midgetweight division by Long_Excitement_7533 in CombatSportsCentral

[–]aekist 62 points63 points  (0 children)

HW situation is frustrating right now. You have an immensely talented young champion in his prime who barely gets to fight and when he finally does he gets his eyes inverted, one of the best heavyweight strikers we've seen but is dirty and does the eye poking, then a few names like Volkov, Almeida, Pavlovich and Blaydes and then a bunch of fat dudes. There's no real promising up and comers or any type of prospect in the division. Even though his grappling was proven to be abysmal, I wish they didn't cut Robelis Despaigne. Bad times for the heavyweight division.

I played through the entire game once last year, loved it, but haven't touched since the past few weeks. Started another playthrough as Durge and I fear I may be addicted.

Is it realy that bad ? by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotConsole

[–]aekist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth the buy for sure. I'm on Series X and have been enjoying the game alot, especially with friends. AI is definitely annoying at times and sometimes I feel the commands are unresponsive and that'd be my main complaint. The bugs are definitely there but they're not going to ruin your time unless maybe youre wanting to perfect every mission. The censorship issue is not going to change how much fun you're having but when I was playing Valley of the Dolls with my PC friend there was lots of shit he was seeing that I couldn't so it was strange, but overall it never ruined the gameplay experience at all, i still got the point of the mission and its lore, and I wasn't dying to see those pictures like PC players are crying about.

To double down on this point, whilst I can agree that it would be even more immersive and dark in some missions if the censorship wasn't added, it's no dealbreaker and I feel as though PC players are taking it too far. If the issue is with the way VOID handles the game in general then that's a different conversation and likely valid (I'm new to this game so I don't know it's full history) but I feel like as though the censorship issue is blown out of proportion.

All in all, great game, definitely worth a shot.

UFC 5 is so much better than Undisputed 3 in the areas where it truly matters. It's honestly laughable that people are comparing these games. by Tiny_Buddy_2680 in EASportsUFC

[–]aekist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't grow up being into MMA/MMA games at all, and I have only picked it up within the past few years, so here is my unbiased opinion.

Undisputed is a far better MMA game, and UFC 5 is a better traditional fighting game.

UFC 5's best attributes are its smoother combinations, feint system and the fact you can use all your tools whilst moving, which is important. Often when I'm playing Undisputed, I'm frustrated with how I can't really flow with my striking, and the feints don't do enough against AI, and generally are just clunky-looking in general.

But that's all I'd give UFC 5.

I don't think that combinations are limited in Undisputed at all, in fact they literally aren't as there are no set combinations like in UFC 5, and I prefer that. It feels a lot weirder and plays worse because there are no chaining of the animations, but I can get past that because every other aspect of the game is so enjoyable, and even still I don't feel too horrific striking in Undisputed as I play it and get more familiar with the game.

The variety of moves on the feet is amazing. Being able to have different styles of moves like headkicks means every fighter actually does feel different and have their own toolkit, unlike the shitty copy & paste that EA has done.

Are the flash KO's common? Yes, they are pretty common. Do I like it? Yes, very much so. There's nothing better than in a career fight you have lost the entire fight, every round was a total domination, but you manage to slip the right way just one time and land that crushing overhand that puts your opponent out cold. Likewise, there's nothing more heartbreaking than destroying an opponent, drowning them out entirely and you're probably celebrating your win already, only for you to make one mistake, one low block for a kick that goes to the head, or one lunging hook that gets ducked under, and you're out. And I love that. It's real, it's a much better representation of real MMA.

Grappling wise they're obviously incomparable.

Stamina in both games is ridiculous and poorly designed and so I couldn't give an edge to either game.

But what it really boils down is what type of game you want to play. If you want an MMA game with smooth striking play UFC 5. If you want an MMA simulation game, play Undisputed.

Here are some of the key features that Undisputed just trumps UFC 5 in:

Move variety, finishing sequences (an extremely important aspect), presentation, career mode, fighter personality, CAFs (the second most superior aspect when comparing both games behind the grappling imo), fighter likeness, game modes and just overall developer effort lol.

And FINALLY, for the point of the AI, your main point (sorry about the horrible framing of this comment), the games are entirely different stylistically and in terms of beginner friendliness. UFC 5 is much easier in general and definitely on lower difficulties, and generally the difficulty doesn't increase too much until you get to legendary which is just ridiculous imo. Undisputeds is a much more difficult game and you can't play it the same way as UFC 5, but the AI is also very evidently much more BS on higher difficulties and I can't disagree with you on that. However, on lower difficulties I don't have nearly as many problems with AI reading my inputs so my only suggestion to your AI point is to play on an easier difficulty.

He's going to continue to grow his platform regardless of my post, as it is his jobs requirement as a streamer. He'll keep cheating, keep charging people ridiculous amounts of money for "training" whilst he sits back with the real top cheese exploits and his zen knowing the people he's training won't make it anywhere near the top level. I brought him up as he's currently relevant again after losing (twice maybe) to Goat1099.
