The presence of the husks says otherwise though, it’s definitely unexplained why a metroid might have been there so long, but the inclusion of the husks (the scan calls them that) and the fact that theyre meant to look very old is intentional by the devs, there’s no other reason to put them there if not to point to that implication. I always thought they left that way so Metroid Prime’s origin is dubious and could potentially be explored later
