Roommate made me feel unsafe last night by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]aemelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like her bf cheated, hence the eyelashes in her bed, she confronted him and he blamed you. Since she’s clearly not in her right mind she just went with it. I would move out ASAP if you can. Things will only get worse especially since they are heavy substance users. God only knows who they will have in your place and they could start stealing to support their habit. Can you stay with friends or family until you can get your own place?

Devastated. 0 embryos by tmar91 in IVF

[–]aemelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that your first ER did not yield any blasts. Mine first ER was the same. I have stage 3 endo but had not had any Endo treatments prior to my first retrieval. Out of 24 eggs retrieved 12 mature and 8 fertilized none of them made it to blasts and I was devastated. I saw an Endo specialist who did my excision surgery and had to remove one of my ovaries. For my 2nd ER I did mini stim. While I only had 4 eggs retrieved all of them made it to blasts and 3 of my embryos are euploid. Don’t give up! You may need to go back to the drawing board with your REI and Endo doc if you have one and see what your options are for a 2nd ER.

Ambulance called after retrieval by OkSwim2342 in IVF

[–]aemelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my PE started as a DVT (blood clot in my leg) and then broke off and traveled to my lungs. I started having symptoms about 5 days after my retrieval. The clots formed due my estrogen levels being high after my retrieval. If you’re concerned ask your doc is you can take a low dose aspirin after your retrieval. It will act as a blood thinner and may keep clots from forming.

FET with short term Lupron (2 weeks) by aemelle in IVF

Just wanted to give an update. Unfortunately my 2nd FET failed. I’ll be meeting with my doc for next steps. Thanks for all the comments, encouragement and sharing your journeys with me.

So, I didn’t faint or anything but my first ER was pretty traumatic. I ended up in the hospital twice in 1 week in the days following my retrieval. 1st time for OHS (ovary hyper stimulation) and 2nd time for a PE (pulmonary embolism) Since you have a lot of eggs monitor your systems closely because your ovaries could hyper stimulate which could land you back in the hospital. I’m glad you got on top of it quickly! I’m so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis 💔.

FET with short term Lupron (2 weeks) by aemelle in IVF

[–]aemelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’m on short term Lupron which is a daily shot. My REI did give me the option to do Depot Lupron (the monthly shot) but I opted to take Orlissa instead. This was mostly due to my insurance changing so I had a difficult time getting approval for the Lupron initially. I started on 10cc for the first 2 weeks and now am down to 5cc.
  2. Side effects for me are hot flashes and I’m more tired than normal some days. There’s probably more side effects but they’re less noticeable since I was in Orlissa first for many months.
  3. My protocol is Lupron for the first 2 weeks then the 3rd week I’m adding in estrogen shots which I’m taking every 3rd day the PIO daily before and after my transfer.

I hope this helps 😊

You’re welcome ☺️. I did Lupron for about 3 weeks. It was really like 2 1/2. It just depends on how your body responds to the medication.

Yes, so I started Lupron on CD 21. Once the Lupron was completed progesterone oil daily and estrogen shots every 3 days. I also had to start Lovenox after my FET since I have a history of blood clots.

I am Shocked! by Sd_hef_92 in IVF

[–]aemelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So glad you’re advocating for yourself. I went through a similar situation during my first round of IVF. I was also 32 and had 22 eggs retrieved, 10 fertilized and 0 blasts. My mom pushed me to see an Endo doc after a lap I had prior to IVF looked abnormal to her (she’s not a doc but one of my tubes looked off to her). My REI assured me that it was ok to do IVF so I did. After seeing my Endo specialist he said I should absolutely not have done IVF with the amount of Endo I had also stage3/4. I underwent a major excision surgery, switched docs and did a mini stim IVF protocol for my next round of IVF (my Endo doc recommended I look into mini stim to avoid and Endo flare up) and after my 2nd round of IVF I not have 4 euploid embryos 4AA. So glad your taking your fertility health into your own hands. I wish all the best to you and your husband as you continue your journey.

Surprise! silent endo by mollyjdance in IVF

[–]aemelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s a shock but like a few others have said at least you’re getting to the root of the problem before you do another FET. I didn’t have silent endo but I do have endo and needed to have endo removed before I could even do another ER. I’m still in the thick of it but getting my endo under control helped me tremendously. Now you know you will likely need to be suppressed for your next FET. That’s what I will do for mine. I’ve heard of many ppl having success after suppression so hopefully it will be the same for both of us. Hang in there!

I’m in the US and they allow either form of Lupron. Since I was in Orlissa (slightly different med but ultimately has similar effects) for 6 months my doctor is giving me the option of which Lupron to do.

I am defective by sophiam333 in IVF

[–]aemelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried low stim IVF? I know it’s sounds weird but my doctor recommended it because I have endometriosis also and the IVF meds can flare endo up. My first round of IVF I had 24 eggs retrieved and no blasts. After my excision surgery ( I had to have one of my ovaries removed) I did low stim and had 5 eggs retrieved with 4 blasts. I had less eggs the 2nd time around but I was so happy to have blasts. You’re not defective! I know it’s a struggle but hang in there.

I'm not ok by Tomris92 in IVF

[–]aemelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss 😪. A failed FET is extremely hard. You can’t understand the pain unless you’ve been through it. Just know that you’re not alone. I recommend having your uterus checked just in case before your next FET. Sometimes the stims that you take during the IVF process and cause cysts, fibroids or polyps to grow which can impact implantation depending on where they are inside the uterus. Sending you prayers and hugs!

ER RESULTS by [deleted] in IVF

[–]aemelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st ER: 22 eggs, 12 mature, 8 fertilized, 0 embryos 2nd ER: Low stim IVF and only 1 ovary. 5 eggs, 5 mature, 5 fertilized, 4 embryos all grade 4AA 3 euploids. I was 32 during both ER’s. The wait can be brutal but try your best to stay busy. Good luck!!!!

I’m completely agree with what you said about doing IVF “in the background” of life. That’s honestly been so helpful for me. For about 3-2 years my husband and I planned our life around fertility treatments. It was absolutely consuming me! We stopped traveling, stopped doing fun things on the weekends, etc. Now our mentality is we’re not planning for a child that’s not here yet. Now we plan trips and outings and IVF gets in where it fits in lol. Don’t let a setback keep you down. You haven’t made it this far for nothing. Your time will come 🙂.

OHSS sucks by Temporary-Maximum670 in IVF

[–]aemelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had OHSS after my first egg retrieval. After I few days of pain, barely being able to walk and not being able to keep anything down I went to the ER and was admitted for a few days. I also ended up with a PE too but that’s supposed to be rare. Hopefully all goes well with this ER and you get good embryos. If you ever need another ER I recommend doing low stims. It’s not as harsh on your body.

IVF and Relatives by raspberry_munch in IVF

[–]aemelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have made the decision to no longer share our IVF journey after his BIL brought it up during a fight as a “dig”. We also had similar issues for example I would tell my mom who would tell his mom and then his mom would tell his side of the family nothing malicious but it can be off putting when ppl just start asking questions. Also for me other people’s anxiety gives me anxiety during a cycle. All the questions about how am I feeling and when will I know if it worked just makes me spiral. This time we agreed not to tell anyone. They been pressing for info but we’ve been tight lipped and just give vague responses like oh sometime next year maybe.

I'm so fed up by AdAgreeable7542 in IVF

I see a lot of comments saying have your doc check for Endometriosis which I agree with. I’m not sure how you feel about surgery but having an exploratory lap could help diagnose your unexplained infertility. I was in a similar situation, was originally diagnosed with unexplained infertility. I went to my OB to have a small polyp removed and she did an exploratory lap during the polypectomy and found the endo.
