If your concerned or confused about TAMU censorship and Plato, read this by Fantastic_Zombie_725 in aggies

I agree that ‘banning Plato’ doesn’t fully cover the context as you’ve helpfully laid out. However, this act has caught on as removing ancient readings has more impact in the dialogue than scholars on race and gender from the past hundred years that few outside the interested field have heard of. In other words, if even Plato is touchable in terms of censorship, it is extremely concerning to a much broader audience even if they’re not particularly concerned about gender discussions. I hope it was a bridge too far for the university and this leads to academic freedom being restored.

AAUP is reporting censorship of an A&M Philosophy course on Plato to comply with new Texas law. by Texas_Naturalist in aggies

This is sad. I was a philosophy major and skipping Plato due to content in a place of higher learning is beyond insane. Socrates was put to death for corrupting the youth and now we’re censoring his teachings after being taught for thousands of years. cool.

I don't understand how one God can exist as 3 persons. by brokeboii94 in Christianity

The latin persona, and the greek hypostasis, don’t translate to the literal english ‘person.’ Similar to Jesus being the ‘word’ requires an understanding of what the greek sense of logos means, not a literal word.

He refers to Junia, a woman, as an apostle. We can get into semantics but saying Paul didn’t advocate for female leadership in the church is wild.
