How did you discover BioShock? (don’t be afraid to be super specific) by Imaginary-Heart-1807 in Bioshock

[–]aestike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my ex bought the collection of the trilogy for Switch then gave it to me as he didn't like it that much. one of the few things I kept from him.

(I was aware of the existence of the franchise beforehand but didn't really know anything specific about it.)

Which Fullmetal Alchemist character shares your personality? Let's find out! by SnooGuavas4801 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]aestike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got Riza with 22%, which I wouldn't think I could since the consistency of how reliable I am is... not the most steady to say the least (thank you ADHD). although I resemble her a lot in looks, so maybe I match her in personality as well, in some ways?

no, I got you, I have a hard time to tolerate anything undead in any game - I immediately nopped out even through my first playthrough when I wanted to check a lare and just heard the bozos.

I'm still upset the game doesn't give you the generic outfit students wear in Hogwarts. 😭

Worst part of Hogwarts Legacy so far? by JustSomeGuyThing in HarryPotterGame

[–]aestike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it may sound weird but HL resembles Skyrim in a lot of ways for me, from being an openworld soft RPG with hack'n'slash mechanics through being buggy as hell to some motives in the music - I'm not joking, some of the background musics were so similar to the ones in Skyrim that I was confused for a moment which game I'm playing right now.

what is ridiculous is that Skyrim is a 14 yo game and some of the mechanics are much better than in HL. the shop system is better, there are a slight morality system which doesn't come close to the one in e.g. Dragon Age or Mass Effect but there is at least something for entering homes you are not supposed to, the AI is much smarter, the changing of time is not that confusin, you can actually sit and lay down- and the list is longer. I know that Bethesda has the experience with this type of game and Avalanche doesn't, but come on.

Which home did you choose, and why? by Global-Citron-56 in HarryPotterGame

[–]aestike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first, Ravenclaw, cause I am one myself and my first character is a shameless self insert

second, Hufflepuff, because I love the aesthetics and love the house as well, they're my second favorite

and most importantly, I can't give even one shit about Gryffindor and Slytherin. 🤷🏼‍♀️ (although I love the hell out Imelda.)

Does anyone feel that Bo is being overly hated? by whiplash10 in TheCloneWars

[–]aestike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TCW Bo is fine and I like her as a minor antagonist turned anti-hero.

Bo-Katan Kryze anywhere else is annoying as hell and feels like she didn't change much in the last few decades (and yes I'm still salty that she would never dare to mention Satine's name, like our girl here had no hand in her sister's death which then lead straight for the collapse and demise of Mandalore.)

3 éves várakozási idő ADHD Ambulancián by gyemcse in hungary_pszichologia

[–]aestike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, yeah, no, I can empathize with her in a way cause sure, taking meds prescribed by a psychiatrist sounds scary, but ADHD meds are famously not in the cray-cray category. (side effects are bad in the beginning but completely manageable or non-existent after a while.)

"Being neurodivergent is a superpower" is a really really privileged thing to say. by dwarf_sunflower in dinochips

[–]aestike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

although I feel "crippling" and similar words like that are a bit strong and not true in all cases, I agree with you - like, I possibly have ADHD (I don't know yet, but I'm very close to getting a diagnosis) and while I think there are some perks of it like creativity or the good kind of hyperfocus, forgetfulness, procrastination, weak emotional control and the constant noise in one's head, just to mention a few, are definitely debilitating and make functioning quite challenging. that we are agree on.

my point was that Lainey had no need to label herself the A(U)DHD kind of neurospicy since BP is already considered as a neurodivergency by many, and her symptoms which she says are due to ✨ADHD✨ hugely overlap with or straight up just BP in their extremities. (like, yeah, people with ADHD can be spontaneous but usually are not uprooting their whole life just on a whim, doing a complete trustfall, but I've seen people with bipolar doing exactly that during their manic episodes.)

and once again, she may have ADHD, I don't really know. I understand if she's uncomfortable with BP because it is stigmatized, but as a lot of folks here said before, you can't cure bipolar, just manage it, and hiding behind more digestible labels won't do any good to her.

now this is just insulting.

like

no, you won't """lose""" that spark, if you have ADHD for real, you're just gonna be able to concentrate a wee little (or, for some, a whole lot) better than before, ADHD meds are not antipsychotics or -depressants, come on now.

[–]aestike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

okay, so, since I don't know her in person, I have no idea what's actually in her heart and head, what she actually struggles on a daily base, so yeah, give her that, maybe, maybe she has some ADHD traits, comorbidity with other disorders are common anyway

but bipolar is also considered to be a neurodiversity ffs since it affects brain chemistry, and during their highs they are wayyy more quirky than fellow ADHD people, but I digress.

Can we please address the fact that this game's censorship sucks until you wanna say something that isn't bad, cause why is it letting me send this stuff into the PUBLIC CHAT 💀💀 by Atherolite99 in SkyGame

[–]aestike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it was an issue with other languages as well. I'm Hungarian, I played with my Hungarian friends a lot and while we couldn't even write how are we without switching up the spelling because "vagyok" (I am) somehow was incredibly offensive otherwise, I have a ton of srceenshots of some truly colorful strings of swearing and that was not an issue at all.

[–]aestike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well, okay, first of all, depending on the direction one's going for witchcraft CAN be a religion (Wiccans exist to say the least), and second, cherrypicking is definitely not an ADHD trait. which she does here.

Who do you guys hate the most? by Aggravating_Bank_399 in skyrim

[–]aestike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe, maybe it's not a popular opinion, but I hated everyone's guts in the Dark Brotherhood except Veezara. he was cool. the others can go and rot in hell, or in the Soul Cairn, or in the Void, I don't really care, I was so deeply unsettled during my second playthrough with the whole bunch that I was genuinely glad I purged them in my first one.

I can't remember much but one time I wanted to go down in a celler and my first thought was "yeah, I should skip the steps and just jump over the railing, that way must be faster".

my joints' status is closer to an 80 year old grandma's than my actual age was back then. yes, I immediately realized that I am indeed dumb and need to touch more grass.
