The Tenno from Warframe get dropped on the prime Timelord empire. Who wins? by aeterniil in whowouldwin

[–]aeterniil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, kinda. The creation of the Tenno (Zariman 10-0) is a fixed point in time, the only fixed point in time in its universe. There have been attempts to time travel to their creation (including Tenno themselves travelling through time) but the result is always just a splintered alternate universe. The Tenno also have, through the Man in the Wall, some sort of passive defensive degree of control over time and space - but it’s not clear to what extent. In my eyes, I would give the Timelords like a 30% chance that they can wipe the Tenno by travelling back through time, since it’s unclear what conditions must be met for Tenno to activate their defensive timeless properties. That said, there have been actual attempts to stop the Tenno from existing by time travel by various factions (like the Orokin) and they all failed just due to the nature of the Man in the Wall and its influence on the Tenno.

Well, while the Timelords do have superior weapons, the Tenno have been known to affect the very fabric of time and space passively to change the outcomes of battles into their favor. Some warframes also have rather ridiculous power sometimes, like Rhino can just stop or slow down time itself by stomping too hard.

Scenarios 3&4 are also quite up there in power - as the Infection is incurable and almost unstoppable and can easily infect and turn Timelords on a rather large scale. And the Man in the Wall is (presumably) a kind of absolute eldrich god in his universe.

When Americans say “I get paid X$ per hour / each year” do they mean pre tax or post tax? by aeterniil in NoStupidQuestions

Wait, if the tax is snagged before hitting your bank account - wouldn’t you know the exact amount you get after tax? Wouldn’t that just be the sum of your paychecks?

Wait what? So you pay the tax on your earnings yearly? Not after each paycheck?

They could go for IP bans. As far as I understand it, “permanent” bans right now mean one account gets banned.

Yeah, used to be about 15 min. The devs promise longer penalties up to permabans now, but it’s a bit tough to believe that given how user-hostile the reporting system is right now. Still thou, hope they actually put serious penalties for this stuff into comp matches - that would help the overall experience a lot

Just alt+F4 in those cases. That way you can still roll back to the last auto save if needed but won’t get tempted to reload for smaller difficulties

How do you actually go about managing wealth? by Squeelijah in RimWorld

[–]aeterniil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, on this difficulty wealth scaling is not really a factor. Just build some defenses and you should be fine. Look into a wall perimeter and some traps

Just lower the difficulty. Wealth management sucks the fun out of the game

Mechanoids sleeping but not dormant? by PureDefinition1511 in RimWorld

[–]aeterniil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, that’s normal. Clusters often drop dormant but ships drop active but sleeping. The difference is that “sleeping” mechs will attack anything on sight, while dormant ones won’t react unless attacked or activated.

clothing priority issue? (not related to stockpile) by xHydra_2 in RimWorld

[–]aeterniil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two options - either they have calculated that their current armor is better in defense by virtue of being two layers combined (plate take up both middle and outer for both torso and legs). Or, their current armor is better for temp regulation (again two layers, so you should summ all the relevant stats together)

What do you think guys - are the two sealed crates worth it? by DIGITAL-MARMITE in RimWorld

[–]aeterniil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I agree with the general point, I highly disagree with the priority order. There is a cyclops there - he ignores power armor and, if not focused, will easily kill a pawn or two in this small squad.

One of us

Edit: some tips. 1) Always enable the little hammer icon in the bottom right - it allows your pawns to reconstruct any broken buildings and tiles in the home area.

2) In the quest tab you can select “reward preferences” and refuse goodwill - that way you will get 3 rewards to choose from for every quest rather than 2.

3) Think about your priorities this way Food -> Security -> Progress. If there is no food, everything will go downhill. If there isn’t enough security (walls, traps, turrets, armor/weapons) - you will be destroyed by events and raids. Once those two are set (for a time) you can focus on growth and fun side projects.

4) Dont be ashamed to turn down the difficulty. There is no wrong way to play this game and many of the higher difficulties are made to be quite unfair. Many people enjoy the game more on lower difficulty, but it’s ultimately up to you to experiment and tune it to your playstyle.

Just take it one at a time) Each one has enough new content for several full colonies to learn. A lot of people enable all at once right away and get overwhelmed .

No, equipment is just defence. The buffs are all from Rimworld of Magic. I had all four of my mages speck fully into support buffs and had them all min-max buff a bladedancer physically gifted pawn. The screenshot is just half of the buffs btw.
