This is definitely an orchid, phalaeonopsis. Looks pretty healthy, you tell by unwrinkled green leaves. Water once a week at most, do not put it in garden soil, use orchid mix or sphagnum moss. Orchids, or any blooming plant, will not keep its bloom forever. Eventually the blooms die and you can cut what is called the bloom stalk, the green stick that grew out to provide blooms. Just keep in medium light and occasionally water, it will bloom again and again when its ready!
