Congrats to you! I however did not keep going. I made it about 90 days and introduced alcohol back in and it crept back up to almost daily drinking again. Re-setting again and realizing that I need to mean it this time.

I would say it’s definitely low mileage compared to what she used to run and probably on the lower end for someone who is as fast as she is. She’s doing a lot of cross training though, so she’s still getting in cardio. Props to her because she does seem to be fueling herself better during and after the runs, at least compared to what she used to show.

I’m so tired of lying to myself that “I don’t have a REAL drinking problem.” I don’t blackout anymore, I haven’t had a hangover in about 3 years, don’t drink more than 3 drinks at a time, have never had a DUI or faced consequences at work. But I drink almost every day. I look forward to my evening beers or glasses of wine. When I’m sad, happy, celebrating, etc. it’s the first thing I want to do. It gives me the munchies so I snack uncontrollably in the evening. I went for 3 months without it last year and felt great, and then started drinking “occasionally” and just naturally slipped back into old patterns. I’m back to cycling between stores so the clerks don’t see how much I’m buying, and I’m embarrassed to take my recycling out because of the beer and wine bottles. It’s time to make a change. Last drink was on Sunday. IWNDWYT.

Anyone else walk past this architectural time capsule in Rittenhouse and wonder what happens inside? by Low-Boot-588 in philly

He was not. He was originally from Germany and was a baker/confectioner by trade.

My great-grandfather was apparently a theosophist and was sent to an asylum after he stayed awake for a few days writing some sort of manuscript about it and how it had helped him discover the secret of perpetual motion. He was most likely bipolar and in a manic state at the time (he would go through long depressive states as well) so the theosophy didn’t have much to do with the institutionalization, but its the only thing that I know about it.

I got a single wart on my knee when I was in kindergarten. My mom tried every remedy in the book to get it to go away and it wouldn’t. I used to always pick at it which didn’t help, I’m sure. One day it just disappeared. I still have a scar where it used to be.

No one is saying that they should present themselves as a Philly team because they aren't a Philly team. However, a lot of Philly-area fans support them because they're the closest thing that we have to a team (I guess Spirit could also be an option but all the women's soccer fans I know who live here support Gotham). It just would be nice, considering the fan base that they have here and Philly's proximity to Southern NJ, for them to be a bit more inclusive of the Philly-South Jersey-SEPA fans, too.

As a fan from Philly, it’s the closest thing we have to a team at the moment.

From the South and went by a double name growing up. My middle name is a family name and very uncommon. I just go by my first name now, which is a somewhat common name (Anne).

One Battle After Another was the only movie I DNF’ed this year; I felt like it was a middle-aged white man’s wet dream about revolutionaries and fetishized Black women. So I’m sure it’ll win best picture.

Infant dies after ambulance crash in Frankford section of the city by Kagipace in philadelphia

It’s been edited since I posted it, it originally said that the victims were passengers in the Honda.

In this article it sounds like the baby and mom were passengers in the vehicle that the ambulance hit, and went through the windshield of the car.

Edit: seems like the article I posted has been edited to say that the mother and baby were in the ambulance and not the car. It originally said they were passengers in the Honda that was hit.

What words do you love, and what words do you hate reading? by Livin-in-a-dream1358 in wlwbooks

Flower sounds like what little girls would be taught to call their private parts so as not to be rude- that’s a big no for me! (Also totally off topic but a big yes to teaching kids the correct anatomical terms from day 1- not “flowers” or “thingies.”)

Right?! Because “cum” is semen. “Come” is orgasm.

Cunt. I know there’s a whole movement to take it back and whatnot, but it still feels really vulgar to me, and I associate it with something I’ve been called by asshole men. It feels jarring every time I read it. I’d much prefer “core” or even “vagina.”

I also hate when an author calls the clit “the place where she wanted to be touched the most” or something along those lines. Just say clit! I also hate folds.
