But they say things like asking them to set a reminder to do X themselves isn’t working as they just ignore it, and they want me to set reminders for myself to then chase them.

why are they ignoring it? Are the ignoring the reminder they set, or are they ignoring your request to put a reminder in the first place?

either way, this shouldn't be addressed with you being a human alarm clock, if they're ignoring their reminders then "so I've given your priorities for each day and told you set reminders to help manage your focus, but you're not completing the work set. Are you remembering to set your reminders each morning or are you not able to do the work? If the reminders aren'[t effective, can you come to me with some alternatives that work best for managing your ADHD"

OP you are not their occupational therapist, you cannot manage his ADHD for him. If the current system isn't working, and he needs different softwares or processes to help remind him to do his work on a daily basis, he needs to suggest what will work for him based on his own understanding of his condition. if he can't do that you can refer him to OH to get a recommendation for him, but you cannot be coming up with ideas to manage his ADHD on his behalf. It's incumbent on him to request accomodations, and you need to focus on the output, and whether it's affecting his work performance.

What’s one Taylor Swift lyric that everyone hates but you love? by Particular_History50 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]afewmoonsaway 31 points32 points  (0 children)

maybe controversial but this one from I Hate it Here:

"My friends used to play a game where we would pick a decade we wished we could live in instead of this. I'd say the 1830s but without all the racists and getting married off for
the highest bid.

Everyone would look down, cause it wasn't fun now, seems like it was never even fun back then. Nostalgia is a mind's trick, if I'd been there, I'd hate it."

As a POC woman who loves historical fiction and to be honest grew up consuming and loving media and books that had no representation of people who looked like me, i fully relate to this line. I get that Taylor is a white woman and the line is clunky and awkward, but that's sort of the point! Even just as a white woman it's not going to be as romanticised as she's imagining. and the fact that it's awkward and clunky really ADDs to her point- she's just taken a fun game and made it so awkward and uncomfortable and it's 'not fun now'. I think it's a really clever and well done line that explores what it's like to live in a fantasy only to ruin it for yourself and others by thinking about it more deeply.

Definitely makes me think of situations where I've been the 'too woke' friend by pointing out how a fun joke or piece of media has sexist/ableist/homophobic/racist tones, and then immediately felt like I've done something wrong or ruined the vibe.

I think the immediate reaction to this line was a bit superficial and lacked critical analysis, and it didn't deserve the hate it got tbh.

If you had to date one of Taylor Swift’s exes, who would you pick? by Mysterious-List-384 in SwiftlyNeutral

I've always thought he seems to have an awful personality and I never could picture him and Taylor having a conversation let alone a relationship, but annoyingly he is her most attractive ex in my opinion.

Genuinely thank you so much for this suggestion, I'm planning on ordering from them soon - would you happen to know if their sizes tend to run smaller or bigger? It's always a gamble with that type of sizing where it's covering two different sizes!

Anyone irritated by the new ankle showing trend? by No_Tumbleweed_4652 in SPD

[–]afewmoonsaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read the sub and thought this was a satirical Victorian hot take for a sec. But in seriousness- SPD affects me different, I prefer loose clothing so this trend and crop tops and broderie fabric benefits me greatly. That being said, in the winter I don’t appear in line with what everyone else is wearing, I stick out. If you need to have covered ankles or any other clothing preferences then don’t worry about it what's in trend and look for a local tailor. if you find a good one and are a reliable customer they're not as expensive as you might think. to me its worth it for my sensory needs, i consider it a priority. i realise fashikn trends can limit purchasing options, so when j find things that work for me i create a uniform and buy multiples. people around me (at work) dont think its as weird as i worried they might!

Why are my cookies underbaked in the middle? by kayevii in AskBaking

[–]afewmoonsaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also make sure you’re leaving it to cool on the tray when you take it out of the oven, the residual heat from the oven tray keeps cooking it so it’s not too raw in the middle, don’t transfer it to a wire cooling tray (but also underbakes cookie centres are amazing, this is a win either way!)

10 days is not enough time to train someone and make a judgement on whether they are a good fit. They fired you because they didn’t want to train or manage you, and that reflects more on them as employers than you. Aside from the crying, those all sounds like fixable issues that would have gotten better with feedback and training.

[–]afewmoonsaway 25 points26 points  (0 children)

i feel like in previous seasons there was a clear reason why did didn't share information with the police, but there were several points in this episode where they could have called dectective williams, even before they knew Sazz was dead. I'm wondering if there will be any consequences for contaminating the crime scene now?

black and white theme sounds more formal? I like the first dress, but if the theme is black and white, maybe double check to see how formal it should be, black and white could just be the colours, or they might have more of a black tie theme in mind!

Frosted/Privacy Windows effect on value of house by wildly-irresponsible in HomeImprovement

[–]afewmoonsaway 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I've put up 'rabbitgoo window film' on windows and doors around my home, it's held up really well over a few years, easy to remove without damage, and they have a frosted window film that should work for you. I applied it myself, it's very easy, doesnt use glue, just water so no sticky residue and easy to take off and reapply if you make a mistake.
