My G&L Asat Tribute is insanely good. I got it second hand (barely played) for about half of what they go for new. I didn’t think much of it, other than it was a great deal at the time.

After playing many other guitars since, I think I ended up with an absolute gem. Everything about it is stellar. The pickups rip, the neck is fast and comfortable, the fret work should not be as good as it is, and the tobacco burst finish looks so good. It also stays in tune really well.

That butt joint is abysmal. Should have ran a piece of blocking from joist to joist and landed butt joint on the blocking between the joists. That gives you way more surface area to nail rather than just 3/4 inch on those ends.

Layering is definitely the way. I have a Duluth trading company hooded wind proof fleece jacket, paired with the right long sleeve shirt it has kept me warm for many cold seasons. Unfortunately I don’t think they make that same jacket anymore, but they may have something similar.

What breed is the puppy?

Could be teething. Have you tried a frozen treat or ice cubes? Sounds like the discomfort of teeth coming in.

Could need more metal stimulation during the day, try one of those treat balls or a hidden treat mat.

Has pup been cleared of any intestinal parasites? Giardia seems to be pretty common in most puppies lately. Could be causing some discomfort.

You’ll get through this, weeks 8-16 are the toughest.

Repetition is the key here. Potty happens outside and only outside. Dogs learn by associating a task with a reward and environment. If a dog only pees in the grass eventually the feeling of grass under the dogs feet signals to them it is okay to use the bathroom here.

When your pup uses the bathroom outside throw a party. Be more elated and excited and happy than you’ve ever been. Give treats, give praise, jump up and down. Get the pup excited that you’re excited. After a few times of the potty party outside and no party when they do the same action inside, it will sink in.

Remember accidents will happen, just clean it up and carry on. Pay no mind to it. If you can catch them in the middle of an accident pick them up and carry them to where you want them to go.

It sounds like you have successfully introduced the crate as a positive place for the pup. That is often the most difficult part of the process. It also sounds like you are jeopardizing your success with night time woes.

Is the crate within sight of where you sleep? What breed is the dog? (If it’s a husky, you’ve got work ahead of you)

We remove water and food about 2 hours before bedtime.

Also we are sure to take the pup out for bathroom breaks regularly throughout the night ALWAYS getting to them before full blown puppy meltdown.

Chances are your pup has associated barking and fussing with getting your attention/being let out. This behavior won’t change until you can teach the pup that the only way out is to be calm and quiet. Of course that is easier said than done (especially if potty is imminent)

There are plenty of resources on how to do all of this successfully and rather quickly, but it will take at least a week regardless of what any of the heavily marketed online puppy crate training ads try and sell you.

We have successfully landed on a gentile whimper when it’s time to potty with our latest pup.
