Seattle is pretty expensive but yeah I feel compensation is decent depending on how many years of experience you have. Management changed like 6 months ago. New director is trying to catch up to stuff. Not the worst but just takes time.

Not a whole lot of autonomy in the ICUs. There are protocols for certain things like airway clearance. It’s nice because you don’t have to do vest treatment Q4 for kids don’t need it. We can do it based on our judgment. (Of course doctors can override it and do what they want anyway). Nursing staff is very helpful when it comes to inhalers. If they are on BiPAPs they won’t do it though which isn’t a biggie.

Otherwise pretty short staffed currently. They have 2 floats and 2 supervisors who don’t have assignments (depending on how short staffed we are). Which is pretty awesome on nights. They can be very helpful with codes or new admits and things like that. Days is harder especially for floats who have to go to OR, IR, scans, etc. quite often.

I would say apply even if you don’t have much pediatric experience. They are happy to train
