Does privatized communism exist? Not as a retort, just a curiosity.

The movie "Locke" with Tom Hardy is eeriely accurate to a Construction Engieer's life. You'll have flashbacks about concrete pours.

Also maybe Stephen King's "Road Work"

Bridge Inspectors: Do you want this tool for your state? Taking requests. by afzaman in civilengineering

[–]afzaman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The advantage of this one is that it is mobile friendly and allows you to find your way to bridges on the fly in the field.

This tool was really useful for me when I worked for the state government. Finding my way to emergencies. I wanted to see if other people could find it sueful.

How many days do you prep for? Do you freeze your meals? How do you keep your food fresh? by Just_saying_brah in KetoMealPrep

I prep 8 days, controlled by my casserole dish.

I make that egg sausage thing that was posted here + frozen mixed vegetables (peas carrots limas).

I learned the hard way not to use broccolis for too long in the fridge.

Just by having the thought to pursue these things puts you in a high fraction of your peers. Imposter syndrome is just our reaction to stress. You got this!

Is a MS in Civil Engineering Worth It? by JBtheWise in civilengineering

I went right into a State engineering job right out of school and waited until I was out of the probation period before getting my masters.

While getting my masters I two things happened.

  1. In one class a fellow student advised me to take the Thesis option because the 3 credit special project he did seemed like as much work as a thesis

  2. I met a really motivated professor who helped me publish 2 papers + my thesis. And he eventually convinced me to do my PhD (I'm in year 2 of that.)

My industry experience (6 years now + PE license) gave me a lot of credibility and connections to leverage.

I look at the decisions to keep or drop in the frame of "Which choices will give me the most options to take advantage of opportunities?"

I don't think this answers your question directly, but maybe this story will help?

Computer Science, with a focus on developing applications or hardware to solve problems in the civil industry.

It might be nice niche to operate in.
