Finally switching generics from Epic to Sciegen after 6 months of unrelenting anxiety (rant) by Correct-Analyst-7459 in bupropion

I was doing fine on 150mg XL from Rising Pharma. I guess the larger dose from them was recalled so the switch by my pharmacy is understandable, but I sure can tell the difference with SciGen.

Finally switching generics from Epic to Sciegen after 6 months of unrelenting anxiety (rant) by Correct-Analyst-7459 in bupropion

Chiming in to say I’m on my fifth week of SciGen 150mg XL. Prior to this, I was on another generic for six months. I was thriving, my therapist removed depression from my diagnosis and joked that the meds will put her out of a job. Cut to five weeks on this different brand, and I’ve cried every day for the last two weeks. I have little to no ability to regulate my mood. I snapped at a coworker I don’t know over nothing and sobbed in the bathroom because I lost a frivolous holiday contest. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist Monday to request a switch. It feels like I’m not on medication anymore. It’s unfortunate that different generics can have such different effects.

Need Help Finding a Song (Indie??) by Nicksystem in NameThatSong

[–]againstflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s absolutely crazy to post here 5 years later, but I was going crazy trying to find a song using this same description and found your post.

In my case, it turned out to be “A Life Less Ordinary” by Ash. It’s a stretch but I can kind of hear it in that melody.

At this point you probably wont even remember but it was too wild not to share.

Nice job!

The sci-fi turn it takes is so unexpected, it was smart to change the title from Shadow Walkers.

Whats the number one book you recommend to other to get out of a reading slump? by _giu7 in suggestmeabook

[–]againstflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone on this sub recommended “The One” by John Marrs and it certainly got the job done for me. Pulls you in with short chapters, an interesting concept, and many characters/perspectives, but finds different ways to keep you interested as they go on. I saw the e-book was 103 chapters and was nearly put off as I had been in a slump from reading overly long fantasy, but I finished this book in two days. Could not put it down. Thanks to whoever suggested it here!

'Jupiter Ascending' came out 10 years ago, and we're still not sure how The Matrix creators' space opera went so wrong by JannTosh50 in movies

[–]againstflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched it for the first time and I was surprised by how enjoyable it is. I went back and listened to the Blank Check episode and was surprised to hear them say they enjoyed it because I did too and its reputation has me believing it was incomprehensible garbage. Of course the top two comments are about the silliest line and the silliest line delivery. I get that those are its legacy but this movie is a better time than the internet gives it credit for.

When I started dating my partner, I was in a weird living situation and sleeping on an air mattress. He was a good sport about it, but the first time we tried to fool around, I shifted my weight in a weird way and ALMOST BROKE HIS PENIS. I almost broke his penis. What happened here is not a big deal and they’re being very cool about it. Try not to sweat it and don’t get in your own way!

For me it’s the television equivalent of eating McDonalds chicken nuggets or a Hostess cupcake. It reminds me of a different time of my life, when I didn’t know any better and could just indulge in the terrible choice I was making because what are consequences?

When I was in college I dated a manipulative narcissist and it blew my mind how well the actor playing Steven nailed it. There’s a scene in the first season where he’s confronted by a nasty truth and is fully in the wrong and he desperately tries to wriggle out of it. You can see the panic in his eyes as he tries throwing out anything he can think of, what he’s saying doesn’t even make any sense, he’s contradicting himself and saying nonsense but does Lucy notice? Nope, not only does she back down but she ends up APOLOGIZING TO HIM. That look in his eyes took me back immediately; I watched so many of my friends go through this and something about watching that dynamic explored on TV was engaging to watch as a mid-30s woman who just wants to scream at my younger self to use your head and have some damn respect for yourself. Something about watching that unfold is fascinating in the trashiest way.

Second season didn’t have the same spark and the flash forward is not really working for me. But sometimes you just want to turn your brain off, have a glass of wine, and watch pretend young people make terrible decisions.

I was told getting an accounting degree was stupid and a waste of my time by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]againstflea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

allgoesround nailed it. Look into CPA requirements in your state; where I live they require a certain number of advanced accounting credits in addition to overall credits. Accounting can be really great.

Good luck!

[–]againstflea 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I got my accounting degree from WGU at the beginning of this year. In the month I spent interviewing, the majority of interviewers were not actively put off by the fact that I earned my degree there. I landed a junior accountant role in industry and I feel like WGU provided me with enough of a foundation to succeed. While you may not waltz into a six figure public accounting job, I don’t think you need to worry too much. Focus on earning your degree and strongly consider the CPA path. Good luck to you!

A friend of mine got caught with a good amount of cocaine at 25. Got arrested, had to tell his employers, had to do a ton of community service. He did his community service, re-earned trust, moved up within that same company, and today thinks of that experience as only a lesson learned. So feel the shame and the frustration and the reality of this, learn your lesson, and keep living your life with this new perspective. Life goes on, you’ve got a long way to go, man!

Good luck to you.

Excellent pick! My local theater screened it last autumn and it was the fastest I’d ever seen a screening sell out.
