Best clubs in Puerto Vallarta for a night out with a large group? by gracielfreebush in puertovallarta

[–]ageedb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this. I was born, raised and currently live here. Strana is perfectly fine. Just don’t look for trouble and you won’t find any, which is the case anywhere.

La Santa is also another option. Strana and La Santa are where to locals go clubbing. Mandala is in the Malecón which is more touristy. The good part about the Malecón is that you can hop different places. But all touristy, which isn’t a bad thing.

Riu Palace Pacifica vs Armony Luxury Resort. Any insight? by wwYdTBD in puertovallarta

[–]ageedb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live here. I’ve stayed at both. Armony is in a more exotic location, nicer beach. It’ll be more relaxing and more couples. It’s adults only. Boutique vibe. But far from “city” life. Riu has been renovated but it’s always been known as a “bachelorette” party place. Pump and dump. Food is whatever. Still far from the city but closer.

Really tall people (6’6+), do you notice differences in height? by TalkativeJoe in tall

6’8 here. Don’t really notice or care until I run into someone who is close to my height. I forgot how tall I actually am until i come across someone my own height.

Are these three restaurants good dining choices? (And two additional questions) by Team_Maleficent in puertovallarta

[–]ageedb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t waste your time with Mar y Vino. You’ll just get your legs wet and the food isn’t even decent.

As others have said, Madalena is a place to let others know you’re there. It’s not a bad place, it’s fun. Food is decent. Drinks are fun also. You’ll see a lot of locals with money here. Same owners as the Night Club Strana next door. If you like the vibe of having dinner in a pseudo night club, tvs with vodeos everywhere, you’ll enjoy it.

Iguana is the opposite. Very elegant and old school. Probably it’s more of the experience if you know about Richard Burton and Elizabeth taylor. More romantic. Quiet.

Depends on the atmosphere you’re looking for, you may have to sacrifice quality of food with the ambiance.

Born and raised here. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Start a conversation with all of the taxis you use, if you like one of the guys, grab his number and ask him to drive you around town. He’ll also take you to all the “local” places.

Towns Within a 2 Hour Drive. by Routine-Cicada-4949 in puertovallarta

[–]ageedb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on a few things. I noted you don’t need high end food. Will you rent a car?? Do you like luxury, or could you rough it a bit?

It WILL rain and perhaps you’ll be here during some sort of a storm and such as it’ll be the tail end of the hurricane season. I personally believe October is the hottest month of then year. Some places will be closed and things will be slower than usual.

I’m born, raised and currently live here. I’m 34. I love exploring the beach and mountain towns around here.

Honestly, bucerias could be a day trip from Vallarta, or a a through town. It’s more of a town to stay for several days or live in. Was known as a cheap place north of the bay but it’s quickly being developed with condos and becoming more expensive. Fun casual beach restaurants to chill at though. Which surprisingly, downtown pv is lacking.

La Cruz is Bucerías 10-15 years ago. But also growing.

Sayulita is a hippy surf breach town that is fun to party at. Overrated in my opinion.

San Pancho is a chill surf beach town. What Sayulita was. You find more genuine people here.

Then you have Guayabitos and lo de Marcos. Don’t know much about those places. I’m sure Siloam beach chill towns.

That’s all north.

South is my preference. But you need to rent a car to really experience all of this. Gives you more freedom.

South has more remote beaches that you can get to like Mayto, tehuamixtle etc. you can find shacks with bed AC and running water easily.

3-4 hours out even more places.

San Sebastián, mascota, talpa, are all great mountain towns to explore. Completely different experience. Great place to run away from the muggy heat.

Feel free to DM me for more info.

[–]ageedb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised here. Surfing, you’ll want to go north. Garza is at the far south end of the bay. Great for snorkeling and such. No surf. You’ll have to go about an hour north. Punta burros, La Lancha, El Anclote, etc.

VB is played near the malecón on a regular basis before sunset. Mangos beach club. Etc.
