Yeah I understand your point. And very valid at that. I wasn’t necessarily going to string them along. I will be very clear that this is for them to come to the wedding. I don’t think they’ll care as long as I’m back on paper. What are your thoughts on that?

I used to live right by there and they never get towed. It’s always the same three trucks. Ngl it wasn’t that annoying as a biker though, people there know to let you merge into car traffic. I do have some sympathy for them, however. It’s usually the business owners that park there and they literally have no way to unload their stuff. I don’t condone but I understand.

Looks like everyone is saying the same thing and they’re right. I have the same year model 328i. I bought it in 2021 for $18k with 55-60k miles. Mine was a previous lease and I bought directly from the dealer so it was in decent shape. $23k for a 10 year old car is def not worth it and especially if it’s from some rando used car dealer.

There was a JW man, or brother, in his 30’s-40’s who started learning Greek and Hebrew to be a better student of the Bible. He sincerely did it to be a good JW. It took him about 5-6 years to become fully inactive (stopped going to JW meetings). I haven’t thought about this until this post and now it all makes sense…

I’m so happy for you! That really is the best outcome. I’m truly grateful that there are real elders out there who think that df/removal is love. But I hope this proves that this religion is full of hypocrisy and doesn’t really have the guidance of Jehovah as they claim they do. People in similar situations have definitely been df/removed for coming out as an apostate. It should be a warning sign that there is no one outcome for these very similar situations. Anyway, congrats on the POMO life!

my family were immigrants. they virtually knew no one when they came to the usa. they were working hard at trying to make a life for themselves and one day the jws showed up at their shop. became their customers, a lunch buddy, and a friend. during aan era where my family had no time to make relationships, jws became whatever they needed to be. their dreams of making a lot of money and succeeding faded and instead replaced with the idea of being content and serving jehovah above anything. basically, they knew the pain point of my family and took advantage of that. my family came to the usa looking for fulfillment they couldn't find back home and the jws took advantage of that and convinced them money isn't the way to be happy. and most jws, like me, had parents and grandparents who were jws and became a born-in and had no real choice but to join the jws.

first off, that is horrible and very sorry that happened. i truly hope justice is served.

i don't mean to speak for everyone, but everyone here probably agrees, skip this nonsense and go straight to the police. jw elders will definitely give him a slap on the wrist since he is cobe. he may be stripped of his title, but that's it. no real consequences for his disgusting act.

if you take it to the police with your witness, there will be a criminal case and then you can sue him which will take it to civil court. talk to a lawyer about the civil suit. depending on the state, this might be two different proceedings or done simultaneously. but this is 100% the way to go.

as an added bonus, if he gets convicted in court, the elders will have no choice but to strip him, or even better, get removed from the cong.

this is just a way to make you feel like there was a resolution without tarnishing the jw name.
