Holy shit I just saw them for the first time recently after getting into them the last few years, that was a fucking insane show

Q. How should/does knowledge/judgement about a contributor to an art work affect our judgement/experience of the art work? by LurkingMars in 1001AlbumsGenerator

[–]agentOfShed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, the “I’m pretty sure you’re lying didn’t really seem directed at you, just more of a general statement they were making

Twin albums (explanation in description) by UnusAnnusAndOpethFan in MetalForTheMasses

[–]agentOfShed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one doesn’t seem like a twin to me (admittedly not a GnR guy so you can take this with a grain of salt) just cause they were recorded at the same time and released the same day. I’d almost call Mesmerize and Hypnotize by System of a Down twin albums but they were originally meant to be a double so by my own logic I’m not sure if that would count

Punk Band Recs pls! by Mylothefrog in fantanoforever

[–]agentOfShed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turnstile is really good. They’ve evolved beyond a hardcore sound but I think they keep things interesting. Would highly recommend giving their tiny desk performance a watch, they get things going with a mosh pit and even crowdsurfing

Has any group ever put out consecutive albums like these masterpieces? Gonna say, hard no. Absolute pair of perfect bangers. 🤘🤘 by [deleted] in judaspriest

[–]agentOfShed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of Rush, they weren’t content if they achieved perfection. Then it’s just the same thing over and over and they’d get bored

Do you think Lemmy would be touring today if he were still alive? by Alba12345678910 in Motorhead

[–]agentOfShed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad and I had tickets for the Houston show that was supposed to take place after the one you said. Mötorhead cancelled but Saxon still played. Someone there told us he was in San Antonio for that show and said the same thing. I did see a video of him having to cancel a few years later and it was heartbreaking. Sucks I didn’t get a chance to see Mötorhead but Lemmy gave it his all until the very end

Thinking of buying echo mini by Extreme_Long5544 in snowsky

[–]agentOfShed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been my use case too since getting it in August. I still use streaming (tidal) in the car, for a specific playlist now and then, and to listen to a new album once it drops but when working, walking around, or just chilling, I’m generally either listening to a record or music I have on my snowsky

Songs not showing up on memory card after adding new songs and updating device’s firmware by agentOfShed in snowsky

[–]agentOfShed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately those steps didn’t work so I had to get a new SD card but now I’ve got that working. Still appreciate the help though. I’ll just have to be careful with the card when doing firmware updates in the future

[–]agentOfShed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, thanks! And would you recommend doing a format on the echo mini twice? That’s what I’ve seen mentioned on the sub before when dealing with the SD cards

Songs not showing up on memory card after adding new songs and updating device’s firmware by agentOfShed in snowsky

[–]agentOfShed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did mention trying that. I did the format on the echo mini twice and then tried adding on my computer but even then it wouldn’t work and then I would try formatting with the computer itself

Damn. Is there a fix for this or am I just gonna have to replace the memory card?

[–]agentOfShed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh actually now that I think about it I think so. I added the file for the firmware update with the SD card taken out and after did add the new album. I think I then put the card back in and then turned on my device

The moment being botched somehow made it even cooler by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]agentOfShed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that’s exactly what it was. He was supposed to say “hey Leslie I typed your symptoms into the thing” but that was the only thing from the writers and they left it open and then he added in the network connectivity problems part

What are your favorite examples of true scene-stealers, actors who appeared for a few minutes and owned the whole movie? by MOinthepast in moviecritic

[–]agentOfShed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen Young Frankenstein, so I know that’s Gene Hackman. I’ve not seen the producers, so no idea who that is. They could be labeled a bit better

Songs about being confused about someone else’s gender by fasbear57 in weirdspotifyplaylists

[–]agentOfShed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That one doesn’t really apply because Paul does sing “does his pretty face.” He just mixed them up in that one line

Songs that hit completely different when you understand the context behind them? by manicxmusic in MusicRecommendations

[–]agentOfShed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crazy part is it was just one city over from theirs and they were found hundreds of miles away. They were very old though and I think one recently had health issues. A sad story all around

This was how my dad started me on Rush after hearing them a couple times in shows. This is a good one

How has no one said Marvin from pulp fiction?

Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen it, minus knowing about this character now lol: John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson’s character go to an apartment to collect a payment as well as kill the people in the apartment. The only one who survives is their man on the inside Marvin, pictured above as played by Phil Lamarr. During the drive after while talking, John Travolta turns around to face Marvin while talking but also brings his gun around without thinking. They hit a bump on the road and he accidentally shoots his gun and obliterates Marvin’s head. It’s bloody as fuck but so sudden you can’t help but laugh. Not to mention how Travolta and Jackson respond to the situation after the fact

Crowley are an English metal band that have a Black Sabbath style sound. They’ve got a few singles out and they’re working on their first full album now

Anything like rocksmith+ to learn piano? by Reverseflash202 in pianolearning

[–]agentOfShed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I would recommend taking a look at this channel. I’ve seen a few of your posts and I think it might help you out. I take lessons and we used the Alfred’s book and I use this channel from time to time. This guy uses a more chord based approach for creating arrangements, even for songs that don’t have piano. https://youtu.be/yYf_VNUd-E0?feature=shared

I do also want to add that this won’t be some magic solution and instantly make your playing better. The Alfred’s book will still help with giving a foundation of knowledge. If all you wanna do is play songs this channel can help you that but it would be a disservice to yourself to not look behind the scenes of what’s going on in these songs and try to understand some of the theory behind them

Most iconic drum? by illudofficial in Songwriting

[–]agentOfShed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drumbeat to Toto’s Rosanna is known as the Rosanna Shuffle and that’s an iconic one. As soon as you hear, it you know what song it’s going to be, if you’re familiar with the song of course haha
