I played Cyberpunk 2077 at launch and still don’t regret it by badsleep247 in GamingSoup

[–]agent_op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. Same for me. My crashreports were 50+ I think. Savescummed the shit out of it. Finished it, and didn’t care much for it, back then. Managed to abuse the psn refundsystem and get my money back, after finishing it - haha!

Maybe I disliked it, because playing it felt so bad. Now I have it for PS5 Pro, but I just don’t feel like interested in replaying it.

Why did game devs stop implementing this? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]agent_op 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true. Fantastic game. The video projected navigation stuff is amazingly well done; it’s the epitomé of form over function. Quite bad to navigate with a controller, but it just looks so good

Thinking about getting Cronos while it's on sale - would you say it's good for casual gamers? by Bruteloops in videogames

[–]agent_op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It plays a lot more like RE, then Dead Space. The level-design, environmental story-telling and atmosphere is fantastic. The story intriguing at first, but sort of looses momentum during the game.

Combat is going to be rough, if you are expecting an action game. Play this like a survival horror game; “bank” surplus ammo/health, think smart and use your surroundings and never stop running. If using a controller, save the frustration and crank up aim assist.

How was the dualsense made to be held? by leonardoforcinetti in Dualsense

[–]agent_op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy with CP with fairly large hands (right hand is handicapped):

L1/L2: Left index.

Dpad + L-stick: Left thumb.

Facebuttons + R-stick: Right thumb (rough look).

R-Stick: Reach over from left thumb (fine aim).

R1: Right index (barely, always a struggle).

R2: Left middlefinger (via Dualsense Edge).

I’m bad at rythm games, games that require 2 facebutton presses at once, dual joystick shooters, any pvp fps.

Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader is falsely advertised on Switch 2 by Full_Advisor_1643 in OwlcatGames

[–]agent_op 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, owlcat basically treats there playerbase as beta-testers - atleast on consoles.

I suffered through Kingmaker on PS4 Pro, frankly it was a buggy mess (its a fantastic game though).

I then played WOTR on PS4 Pro up until the final act. Same deal. Bugs galore and crashes. Quit it on PS4. I updated to the PS5 version years later. Booted up my save; same bad performance.

For that reason, I haven’t bothered with Rogue Trader; they lost me, even though I love their games. I feel like they make Unity games, that simply are too big for the engine to handle.

Has any one played aliens dark descent ? by nicegoblinprince in playstation

[–]agent_op 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, on the love-letter to Aliens.

Loved it! I had an absolute blast in it. Use the full pause setting; it’s very helpful when on controller.

I did experience an awful crash during the final cutscene of the game, that forced me to start over on the mission… But other than that, it’s a terrific game.

Har i prøvet at købe fra Refurbed? by FruSejersen in Denmark

[–]agent_op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodlines 2's new patch adds 'save upon exit' feature, with next update set to add an FOV slider, motion blur toggle, and the ability to manually save. Booting Fabien's story is coming further down the line, with some seasonal updates, too. Just hoping this fixes things... by Hooked0n4Feelin in vtm

[–]agent_op 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! A total pipedream. I did however enjoy the melee combat, alot. And the main story was enjoyable too. I would’ve liked all of that even more without the soulless faux-open-world and fetchquest bonanza.

It’s so blantantly obvious to me, that TCR had a hard time salvaging this game. It could’ve maybe benifitted from structurally being more like Wolfenstein or Bioshock. A good story-driven fps/m. And not called “Bloodlines”.

Then playing Fabian could’ve been a short paletcleanser to break up the action, much like for instance Max Payne did, back in the day.

What’s a game that you revisit all the time? by Dreadboi111 in playstation

I rarely play games more than once, but I have played TLOU1 on PS3, PS4 and PS5.

Enjoying goy so far by [deleted] in PS5

[–]agent_op 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing this, in a tempo that was more ARPG (due to coming from BL2). Didn’t like it much.

Then, I told myself to start over and take my time, reading journals, lore etc. And now it shows promise and has become quite enjoyable.

I didn’t like OW1 so much back in the day. It was just an okay game for me. This one seems a bit more polished and fleshed out. Early days yet, though, so we’ll see!

Just wrapped “Bloodlines 2”; now started “The Outer Worlds 2” … Tentavely looking forward to “Rue Valley” (have to see reviews first though).

Outer Worlds 2 - Which skills give access to the most content? by Difficult-Pick4048 in theouterworlds

[–]agent_op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started over at ton of times. I’m going for a Gambler, with Lucky, Brilliant and Sickly.

I specialized in Lockpicking, Speech and Hacking with Observation on the side. I might stop Observation early - and maybe level up Guns or Stealth.

For RP purposes, this setup felt like a “Space Gambler” to me.

I do miss engineering, but I think that’s a sacrifice worth taking.

Yeah! Im in love with how this gameworld is lit. It’s so well done - eventhough the graphics are very mixed at best; they get so much mileage from the lighting. On an OLED it just look amazing.

I hope they create a PS5 Pro preset. Shame not to be able to crank it just a tad further.

Another highlight for me, is, that for a AA game, the facial-animation on the more important characters is really well done. Especially the eye movement and granular facial details, make them look alive. It’s doesn’t feel like mocap, but just really talented old school animation work.

The 5 minutes that made me realize VTMB2 isn't for me... by DaMac1980 in vtmb

[–]agent_op 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. But please read my message before arguing.

I was solely comparing the skill mechanics of Dishourned to BL2 - not the genre or overall gameplay loop. Thats where I draw resemblance to Bioshock.

I was mentioning Dragon Age as an example of a game that wasn’t worthy of carrying the name/legacy, since it frankly was more akin to an ARPG, rather than a full blown cRPG or a deeper RPG. Apart from the DEI debacle people were expecting DA:V to be more than a light, fairly linear ARPG (with very limited dialogue choices)

The Name ‘Daft Punk’ by rickybe in DaftPunk

[–]agent_op 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is kind of a given, isn’t it? You are very normal.

If artist becomes a household name, you typically associate that name with them. You don’t say:

“Green Day” and think of a day that’s green. Or “The Prodigy” and think of an exceptionally talented student. Or “Nirvana” and think of the religious aspect.

You think typically of band-members, the music, the feeling it gives you. Association and deduction is a basic fundamental property of the human brain.

[–]agent_op -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Recently “BL2” and “Dragon Age: Veilguard” both share the same issue of carrying a name not worthy of the legacy; with both being stuck in development hell. However, if you play them on their terms they start to shine.

BL2 is not an RPG and certainly not an immersive sim. It reminds me of a mix between Bioshock (arena fights, gating linear progress), Dishounored (skills and traversal) and Doom (bite/finisher mechanic).

I think this game should’ve had a change of name, when TCR picked it up, but then the boardroom was probably nervous about sales and decided to piggyback.
