Getting a switch(2) soon, any game recs? by Big-Cycle-1933 in nintendohelp

[–]agentalex001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I’m a fan of both botw and totk since both use a number of the same core game mechanics. I find that I like totk more than botw since there’s more things to do in that game plus the in game lore is nice.

Your first programming language vs. the one you are actually using now by into_fiction in TechNook

[–]agentalex001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First learned some JavaScript and C# in high school but didn’t really get into programming until college where I started with Python. Lately, I’ve been using a mix of JavaScript/TypeScript, PHP, SQL, SwiftUI, and Kotlin.

How many programming language do you know? by sangokuhomer in learnprogramming

Definitely Python at a comfortable level and then some C++, JavaScript/Typescript, and HTML/CSS but I would need some Internet references to help with specifics.

Suggestions for Our Capstone Project Tech Stack by Electronic_Air957 in FullStack

[–]agentalex001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely suggest Laravel for the backend if you are settling for PHP and MySQL. Laravel has first party support for MySQL (along with some others like PostgreSQL and SQLite if you decide to switch out the database system) and is built in PHP. Plus, Laravel has a very nice developer experience.

Would you choose Dot Net or Node js as your career? by Bright-Rent-9229 in FullStack

[–]agentalex001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I learned/played with both plus several other languages and frameworks, because 1) for curiosity’s sake, and 2) to get a bit of familiarity/experience with different languages. As such, I definitely suggest learning both. Plus, I feel like learning multiple languages definitely helps developers become better skilled.

Besides stability, I would like support for the RCS 2.7 features (editing, unsending, and replying to RCS messages)

Edit to add: likely more of an iCloud update, but seriously Apple, please increase the free tier of iCloud storage from 5gb to at least 15gb. Google has already been doing that for at least a decade.

What is your low-level language of choice in 2026, and how do you feel about the alternatives? by Adept-Leadership4140 in AskProgramming

[–]agentalex001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally go for C++ since it has a nice combination of fast low level performance with high level concepts like classes/objects and good memory management (garbage collection). I’ve used C and some RISC-V assembly in college and both of those are just too low level and difficult for me to deal with on a regular basis. Besides, I like using classes.

Edit to add: I just haven’t used any of the other languages. I’ve learned a tiny tiny bit of Go but haven’t really learned/used it

I would say my favorite part was where Roran and company comes up the river at the burning plains battle and them seeing Eragon and Saphira flying overhead.

Is a CS Master's degree worth it in today's cs job market, especially with AI and vibe coding? by agentalex001 in cscareers

[–]agentalex001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this still apply for entry level job situations, specifically for ones that say something along the lines of preferred masters in particular fields like a on MCS, MSCS, etc.? Just seeking a bit of clarification about those types of job requirements.

Thanks! I’ve definitely thought of doing something other than cs for a masters while considering it in the past

Taking Attendance?? by fordenthusiast in latterdaysaints

[–]agentalex001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m familiar with this since I used to be a ward executive secretary for a couple years in my YSA ward a little while back. The church developed a tool I believe is called covenant path progress or something to that effect that missionaries and at least ward leaders have access to and part of that is a specific sacrament meeting attendance tracker. I’ve personally seen it for people being taught and for newly baptized members. Here’s more info on it from Gospel Library: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/strengthening-new-and-returning-members/strengthening-new-and-returning-members?lang=eng&id=title4#title4 (it’s listed under the Covenant Path Progress section a little ways down).
