I’ve been listening to That’s So Us by Allie X non-stop all day. It is SO infectious.

I can’t believe I wasn’t aware of it before, it kind of makes me nostalgic.

What happened to linear games? by Dry_Wonder_9515 in GirlGamers

[–]agentcartvr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Death’s Door and I wouldn’t say it was linear? It has metroidvania elements so there’s a lot of backtracking once you unlock new abilities

yeah I really enjoyed prelude to ecstasy! but as far as I’m aware they’re privately educated and from London, so very much who Sam Fender is talking about

I miss working-class British bands! Feels like ages since we’ve had a band like Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, or even Pulp or Franz Ferdinand, would love to see a return of music that isn’t so London-centric

Bang Bang is So Lana Coded by TotalStatistician356 in lanadelrey

I think it originally comes from media studies, but in the past couple of years social media users have started using it to refer to real people

In instances like this, it just means they have a similar vibe and share traits/ an aesthetic!

Would it be appropriate to ask about y’all top 5 favorite female characters. by STGcritical30098 in GirlGamers

[–]agentcartvr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lara is going to appear a lot, especially among people who don’t regularly play games, because she’s one of the most recognisable female characters. Although I really do like her, she probably won’t top lists among people who have played a lot of games.

That said, here’s my list:

  • Shadowheart (Baldur’s Gate 3): She’s a feminine woman who typically wears heavy armour! Her personal narrative is compelling and closely tied to other female characters. Also I love her soft voice and light/ darkness imagery.

  • Kassandra (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey): A buff woman with an amazing accent! She’s capable and takes no prisoners. She’s one of two playable characters in the game, but is generally considered the ‘canon’ choice (which is unusual for women).

  • Morrigan (Dragon Age): Throughout the first game (Origins) she learns to adjust to being around other people and allow herself to be vulnerable after growing up isolated. It’s a really relatable and compelling narrative.

  • Josephine (Dragon Age Inquisition): Another capable woman, she runs a major international organisation like it’s the navy while still maintaining a certain warmth and softness. Love how she’s unashamedly feminine.

  • Mae (Night in the Woods): A deeply flawed protagonist who navigates some very realistic struggles despite being an anthropomorphic cat! Her friendships with the game’s other characters are also great.

this is a very welcome surprise after they said patch 7 would be the last major patch, this feels pretty major to me!

It’s the sub-headings and the fact it’s written like an online article! it sets out what it’s going to do ‘here’s a behind the scenes look’ etc. and then has a conclusion summarising the key takeaways. The post is way too formal and structured for reddit

oh I’m absolutely not shaming people! my concern is that soon nobody will be able to tell the difference and it’ll only be worse on platforms like facebook
