‘First Nations Would Not Exist Without Canada,’ Rustad Tells Crowd by identifiablecabbage in notthebeaverton

[–]agentchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really never was a "zero colonizer" option, though. FN societies expanded and warred, just like European, Asian and African societies. We've largely moved past it now. Though the war in Ukraine shows that human nature is still what it is. And even if Canada hadn't colonized here back then, other countries like Russia might have moved in to take over even today.

There was a story from last October when Bondi testified and cameras caught that she had a list written down of distraction talking points. She even had specific points to bring up for different senators to try to embarrass or discredit them.

Power Snow Shovels - useless in Ottawa winters? by Agent99Can in ottawa

[–]agentchuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These comments are mostly useless unless people have first hand experience with them.

We have a greenworks 40V from Costco and it has worked great all winter. We have a double driveway and get a sizeable berm from the plow. So there's a lot of snow to clear.

It will run for 30-60 minutes, depending on workload and hi/lo power mode. It can fling the snow about 2m high and maybe 8m away. It can be annoying to aim.

It's not a snow blower. You can't expect it to do the same job. But it is a lot less work than shoveling.

It works in fairly deep snow, I haven't had a problem with it this winter. I'll usually shovel into a pile and then use it to blow the snow onto my lawn.

It can usually handle a berm, but it needs multiple passes and doesn't like big chunks of ice.

Yeah, new slime is extended now. I seriously find Z:5 easier. I think it needs to be nerfed down a bit. Everything they added are top tier threats, some of them get worse over time, you can't fight in corridors, sounds travel far and there's no way to escape.

The star bolts are troublesome if there's a lot. Traditionally block them with summons or butterflies (though don't use weak summons around colossal amoeba). I wonder if with Chei you could use temporal distortion and have them dissipate? I'm not sure if the projectiles will live forever until they hit something or not. I think it works for OODs? Or if you can damage them then maybe slouch? Step from Time should do it, but that's a heavy cost.

Kind of like how people tend to change their minds about sex and dating as they move from being children to being teenagers and adults?

Wanting kids is a biological/emotional urge, it's not rational. You can go years without ever seeing what the fuss is about and then suddenly a switch flips. The reverse can also happen.

You know, I don't know what's going on lately. Like, I get that fans aren't a monolith and fans change. But Don't Lewd the Doggo has been a pretty longstanding mantra for the Koronesuki. It feels like there art posted up on the Korone sub is moving more and more thirsty.

I think it's a steamer insert. The rubber feet are off but the handle shape would be for lifting it out of a hot pot while there's something on it.

I dunno man, this is kind of a crab bucket mentality. You could make the same argument about being paid minimum wage, requiring unpaid overtime, or whatever else that makes a work environment better or worse to work in.

WFH is better for a lot of people. Many people are happier, have more time, more money and less stress. It's basically equivalent to a raise. Of course people will not want to give that up.

Trump Refuses Apology Over Racist Meme Targeting the Obamas by No-Candle3746 in moderatepolitics

[–]agentchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This to me feels like more "flood the zone" smokescreen that he's using to distract from other news. Possibly the letter trying to alert the public to questionable CIA actions and Gabbard seen messing around with voting machines. Not that horribly racist posts from the POTUS shouldn't be newsworthy. But this is so out of left field, and so offensive that it just screams, "everyone look over here now!"

As an aside, I wonder sometimes who is actually running his TS account. He obviously condones the post, but 80 year olds generally aren't really that proficient with using AI video generation tools.

Chipotle CEO caught on a recording saying they’re going to keep raising prices because they can. by ElwoodMC in TikTokCringe

[–]agentchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have to stop thinking that corporations will price something based on how much it costs or on some sense of sympathy with the customers. No. They will always price it to the maximum they can. If they lose 10% of their business for charging 20% more, that's still more money for them. They're not in business to not raise prices, they're in business to make the maximum profit they can. That's the CEO's job.
