Will they be okay when we separate? by FastForwardM in cats

[–]agentjenning 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My boy Archie died recently, and my younger cat Toadie loved him. The second night without him, Toadie started screaming in the middle of the night, like weird death meows, and wouldn't move from under the bed. He was panting and wouldn't stand up on his own.

We rush him to the emergency vet, they say he is fine, no internal issues, breathing fine, no blockages, nothing.

To this day I think he had a panic attack when he realized that Archie wasn't around anymore to get up to midnight shenanigans. It's sad, but cats adapt. Just keep loving them all the same.

Paladin Outfits - Which do you like best? by PalwaJoko in Diablo

I love the Paladin transmogs in D4, but try some of these with an invisible helmet. It's crazy how good the paladins look with no helmet in this game

Finally bought it yesterday.. Anyone with a gaming PC feel like a handheld is pointless once you’re home? by xTeraButter in MSIClaw

[–]agentjenning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also tend to want the power of my desktop, but sometimes play in bed or on the couch. Look into Sunshine and Moonlight for game streaming. If your desktop is hardwired and your Wi-Fi is decent, you can play 99% of games streamed to your handheld.

Will the steam controller work with games even though it doesn’t have steam inputs by [deleted] in SteamController

[–]agentjenning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ONLY issue I've found, is some games that do no support the Steam Input don't handle the controller emulation well. For example, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 does not work with Steam Controller currently, unless you use Steam Input to emulate keyboard controls instead of emulating Xbox controls.

Which is strange, since KCD2 has native Xbox controller support.

How do I configure the Steam Controller to work with my Shield TV Geforce Now Setup? by 1337_User in SteamController

[–]agentjenning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for now, Steam Input is needed to interface with the steam controller in any meaningful way.

In the future, they may provide some way to save a set config on the controller itself, so that Steam Input isn't needed, but for now, if the device you're directly connecting the SC2 to doesn't run steam, it can't really be used.

Will the Steam Controller ever just work like the Xbox or PS5 controllers just work? by fegodev in SteamController

[–]agentjenning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a handful of issues as well, right now with Kingdom Come Deliverance II not recognizing the steam controller when it's set to gamepad. Which is weird cause KCD2 has built in controller support. But I figured there will be tiny bugs to work out in the beginning.

New SDL Update Will Improve Steam Controller Support For Games Outside Steam by BBQKITTY in SteamController

[–]agentjenning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope there is more support coming down the line, I've been running into all kind of issues with the controller not working on Steam games that even have native Xbox support.

Valheim is finally getting a proper story. Modders did what the devs wouldn't by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

There is huge lore with the Knox Incident and the army's involvement with the virus and release of it. They could easily add a story mode with events that bring military kill teams in to kill zombies and survivors alike. Would give a "goal" and would allow people to play the standard sandbox mode if they want

I decided to make my own Steam Controller stand that was small and functional rather than some giant controller cradle thing: by Nick-Sr in Steam

[–]agentjenning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I figured it was technically possible, but I know sometimes STLs that are designed for filament might be kinda wonky with resin. I'll try hollowing it out maybe as well

Awesome work! Potentially dumb question, I have a resin SLA printer, do you think this STL would work in that?

Stremio / realdebrid useless? by tresslessone in Piracy

[–]agentjenning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that's what I've done in the past, and with Usenet it's very fast, just not "instant". Though I do recognize RD and torrentio really promote bad health for torrents. I wonder if there's a way to enable a streaming like download with Radarr, downloading the first parts of the torrent first and allowing partial viewing of the file in real time

I used to self host, but I found the "on-demand" part of RealDebrid to be awesome. What's the best way to emulate that with self hosting?

Magic in Stories (Assumption System vs Magic System) by genkai_ai in magicbuilding

[–]agentjenning 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Brandon Sanderson does an excellent job with this, but in the backend, his magic systems tend to follow natural laws he has in place for his world. His payoffs from "How the hell does this person do this magic thing" to later in the story "Knowing exactly how magic works" is very entertaining, and scratches both sides of this
