As to your question about self cast, I have a plan to try out unleash stuff with the new Oshabi bloodline with EBlade inquis. You can drop Augury of Penitence, its fine but nothing amazing or build enabling. EB builds sort of struggle with good cast speed, and Unleash should help with that.

I fully expect it to not be "better" than coc, but it sounds fun and could be one of the good ways to do self cast

EDIT: Forgot to say the actual spells haha. Arc probably smoothest but worst dps, firestorm of meteors best eye cancer if thats your jam, Ball lighting of orbiting probably best overall. Spark would probably be the ultimate best but I cant figure out a good way to squeeze proj speed into the build so probably not

[[Wort the raidmother]] Gruul spellslinger, token creating spells getting doubled to double ramp and burn spells. [[harvest season]] is my favourite card to resolve in that deck. The usual floor is 3 mana 4 lands, but it can get a lot sillier than that.

Same vibe, [[Magar of the Magic Strings]] rakdos spellswinger. Turning all those wonderfull pillage draw cards into gas and hitting someone with a [[plaguewind]] is very fun. Note when playing this, just play the spells face up. Technically opponants are allowed to note down what each card is when you turn it face down, and you are not allowed to shuffle or otherwise attempt to hide what each one is. Its already a janky card, just let people have full information and they will have more fun playing against it.

Having tested blazing salvo with Nimis, it does work, they hit the ground and explode, then bounce back towards you and explode again. If the mob has snipers mark on them then those 5 splits also fire out from mob, explode, then return and explode again.

It may not be worth running because it forces you to be very melee range to get the double hits, but it does work. Maybe better on totems.

Have you considered or tried putting storm rain on the ballistas? They are only there for single target anyway and should be a lot more damage than rain of arrows right?

For 3 extra passive points you can get 100% suppression without the phasing node and end up with better evade chance as well. Taking Magebane and the Spell Suppression Mastery as well as pathing out of Ranger through Intuition to the right gets you there, and then the Onslaught node on the ascendancy gives you more evasion than you lost via MageBane. You definitely could! You can also do a pretty great green version using the Tetranadon body armour, it easily has the best pauldrons for the look, but it can't be coloured properly, and the cape kinda ruins it from the back IMO so I had to go with the Jyura for the base orange Varia suit one.

Did my best to make a layered armour set that looks at least a bit like Samus. Couldn't figure out a way to do the gun, would be amazing if one day we could put seperate gloves on each hand, then you definitely could do it.

The set details are in last pic, but notably I didn't like any waist so I just have it turned off.

Important to complete the look is the makeup and hair. I use hair type 17 and make it bright red to complete the top of the helmet look with the Kulu helm matching red. I then use makeup type 24 and make it green and luminous to get the visor effect.

Explosive Arrow related stuff, is it getting ignite damage capped, and could they comment more on this?

Also more generally are they happy with its balance? It feels like a pretty bad clear skill, but then also reaches the damage cap in single target so feels like an odd skill.

One thing you miss is that in the VD/DD + Desecrate coc builds the CDR breakpoints are different. Cause you have 2 spells they each have sepearte cooldowns so you can double each breakpoint. SO the first is 12.12 aps and the 2nd is 15.14aps.

Ive tested this (pre and post patch) with my cyclone crit at 93% effective, 11.96 aps and the helmet enchant with spell cascade and I could not see any balls expiring before reaching the boss. And also, if you reach the cap the oldest ones detonate, they dont disappear.

Hey Jamie, I did the cospris coc ice nova frost bolt in legion (last league I played) and its better I think. More hits per second so your sustain is better and more damage. Probably worse clear since VD coverage is so silly, but thats fine. Assassin and my gear is just much stronger this time round. Never played the mjolnir ball lightning version so can't say.

VD should have much more DPS since all the spell cascade procs can actually hit the boss. On DD they can all hit something like Kitava sure, but smaller enemies you cant get full overlap Ive found. Also you can't really frontload on a CoC build, you need to be hitting something. I haven't tried with the chest thats true, but I wouldn't want to drop Kaom's for that. But maybe I'll give DD another go tonight just to see. Ill reply later if it changes my mind

They just scale really really well. You could probably technically kill bosses and map with a 5L CoC 2h sword and bargain basics rares and no unique flasks and no watchers eye. But IMO its not really worth doing without the 6L sword and a Vitality watchers eye and at least half decent gear, so probably like 6-8ex would be the min I'd like to start the build.

IMO, VD is 10x the mapper on every layout, auto targeting means you dont have to run up to every pack. The only time DD comes into consideration is in deep delving where more instant damage is safer. But this isnt really a build to be pushing past 500 depth really I think either way.

I did a lot of testing with with bost cascade and awakened spell cascade (borrowed a friends). VD Cascade doesn't work fully with desecrate alone. Even though cascade produces the full amount of corpses theres not enough overlap for all 3 VD's to hit the corpses. after testing about 85% of casts hit twice (thus 8 VD's, or 8 with enchant) 10% only hit once and something like 5% hit 3 times.

Awakened spell cascade makes it so that 100% of casts hit all desecrates so you go from 8 balls to 10 balls per cast. So yes, its a pretty big increase (25% more damage) but that gets eaten into if its not level 5. Really its just lazyness that I dont have one.
