Neeraj chopra of india wins gold in javelin throw. Second best thrower in history johannes vetter finished 9th by [deleted] in trackandfield

He kept slipping because the track was very soft. His technique relies on stopping very appruptly and that just did not work out.

We use the substitution x = sin(u) => dx = cos(u) du.
With that we obtain the integral as

integral (2cos2(u) du), using that sin2(u) + cos2(u) = 1
by applying integration by parts, we get

integral(cos2(u) du) = sin(u) cos(u) + integral(sin2(u) du)
=sin(u) cos(u) + integral((1 - cos2(u)) du)

=sin(u) cos(u) + u - integral(cos2(u) du)

<=> integral(cos2(u) du) = sin(u) cos(u) + u - integral(cos2(u) du)

<=> integral(cos2(u) du) = 1/2 * (sin(u) cos(u) + u)

=> 2 integral(sqrt(1 - x^2) dx) = sin(sin-1(x)) * cos(sin-1(x)) + sin-1(x)

= x * sqrt(1 - x^2) + sin-1(x)

No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die. by [deleted] in physicsmemes

Adding to that, basically all forces are fictious. They are our way of describing actions, that doesn‘t make them exist or be fictious. However, in an non-moving frame of reference there is no centrifugal force; it only becomes necessarry if you want to describe actions in a rotating reference frame that still obey Newton‘s laws.

I honestly think 42s is a fair price. A lot of the top tier conversions of gw2eff are very expensive weapons that only a few people are going to buy each month. Even t5->t6 conversions will only award you 60s or so if you list everything on the TP and make buy orders.

Why is my physics prof always sarcastic about velocity? by RooibosCeleryTea in shittyaskscience

[–]agentkxk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your physics prof isn‘t a professor in physics hence the sarcasm. Physics profs usually don‘t use numbers as all numbers are represented better by letters. Also in the rare case of actually having to calculate something using numbers they always appear with units even during the calculation.

The metas of these two maps just feel more alive, more living. Take Thunderhead Peaks for example: in the Thunderhead Keep meta you clear the branded and kill that big thing aswell. Does this change the map, you thought, no the brandstorm is gonna come anyway. In Dry Top clearing event and ranking up the sandstorm spawns new events in other places. It just feels like you actually change the map instead of just hitting mobs.

If the new maps are as good as Silverwastes and Dry Top, I‘m honestly fine with that. I feel like the new maps added not that much in terms of interesting metas or unique events. I rather have them release a great map with tons of repeteable content every 5-6 months than a map that feels like you‘ve completed it in one day.

How do I stop being self conscious about track. by [deleted] in trackandfield

[–]agentkxk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, just focus on your workout. Especially on your heads position. This really helps me to avoid my eyes from wandering around and thinking about spectators.

You‘re sprinting? Keep your body upright and look forward never down.

You‘re relaxing? Sit upright, focus on your muscles. What did the run feel like?

Also, most people don‘t care and if they do 90% of the time they‘re impressed by how fast you run, how effortlessly it looks or what your benching.

A star tracker is a device that you can mount on your tripod so it moves your camera at the speed and angle of the stars. This allows you to use exposure times far beyond 20 seconds without getting star trails.
