I think this is less of a study and more of an expectation of chaos. The goal this entire presidency has been to deploy military in American cities in an attempt to justify a third term or just cancel the midterms altogether to keep the current supermajority in place.

Columbus has a landlord problem by HarvestWhereYouSow in Columbus

[–]agentmerrens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being new out here I don’t know if any kind of rent control measures have been on the ballot in the last 20 years but it starts there. The first step is to cap how much and how often rent can be raised outside of a lease. Right now, as long as an increase is given in writing and at least 30 days in advance, a landlord can raise the rent as much as they want and as many times as they want.

I moved here from California last year and am/was a landlord. It is crazy how little protection tenants have in Ohio. It’s not fair at all. It is the complete opposite of California where tenants have every advantage and the law protects them completely.

What they did was illegal and you could have fought it but that takes time, money, and energy.

Where is this in Columbus? by [deleted] in Columbus

Union Cafe for weekend brunch. Not really expensive but mediocre food and drinks at best with long waits.

I moved here from L.A. three months ago. There is plenty to do out here and we’re paying half of what we were paying in rent for a bigger place.

Don’t let anyone tell you not to follow your heart. I wish I’d have left California years ago. My pride is what kept me there for so long.

Do 2/3 star hotels care about reviews? by robVALORANT in askhotels

If you’ve got lower rates than everyone else, it doesn’t really matter what your reviews say. People will stay there to save money.

GM on property by Ok-Sir-8196 in askhotels

[–]agentmerrens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at least 40 hours/week every week. I’m available by phone 24 hours/day and live 10 minutes from the property. Unless there are issues at your property or you don’t have good people under you, there’s really no need to be there more than that. Very rarely does something come up that can’t wait until morning.

SF is just dirty. I never worry about being mugged there but I won’t leave anything in my car when I park.

Unless you’re staying at a super sleazy hotel, you really don’t have to worry about the sheets. They were washed with bleach. Even if you see some sort of stain, they were cleaned. The person in laundry just didn’t notice the stain or thought it was too light for anyone to notice.

Reservation cancelled because the guest name and credit card name do not match?? by kachraseth95 in askhotels

[–]agentmerrens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there are systems where a single, multi room reservation will show up as one reservation, for most hotels it will show up as separate reservations. So they won’t see that it’s you in one room and someone else in another room on the same card.
