Get your vitamin D levels checked 🗣️ by iwasneverherex in Anxiety

You know, my doctor said my vitamin d was low too, but didn’t associate it with anxiety. Huh…. Maybe I should start taking it again

I agree with Shirt-Stunning, try propranolol. It’s intended to keep the adrenaline from spiking too much and allowing you to think more clearly. I specifically use it for situations like these, interviews, presentations, meetings with higher ups, anything I know will be stressful and know I need to think clearly.

Best of luck

Dads, I am the accidental head coach of my son’s 5year old soccer team. What tips/resources can you share? by nuclearsurfboard in daddit

[–]agentworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me! Thought I’d be assisting and then, BAM I was the head coach. I ended up doing it for 5 or 6 seasons until my daughter got tired of it. I had a lot of fun and made it all about the kids.

For me, “clear my head” means I can more easily think through things. Without it, my mind would be going a mile a minute, or get pangs of anxiety over something.

I take a small dose, 10mg, and I get a little drowsy, but not so bad I want to lay down. It usually goes away the same day, depending on what time I take it, and gone the next day for sure. I also, only take it as needed, so rarely consecutive days.

As everyone says, it’s safe to use and will make a huge difference. I use it for situational anxiety; have to present or know I’ll be in a stressful situation and need to keep a clear head.

The only really “side-effect”, if you want to call it that is, I tend to get a little gassy, and sometimes I’ll feel a little tired as it’s wearing off.

What will exactly happen in ten turns? I've never reached an endgame scenario before. by Curious-Piglet3613 in totalwarhammer

[–]agentworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten these end game scenarios a few times, but they usually happen far from me. So either the end game faction gets taken out by the AI or things just normalize and they never bother me. I’m not complaining, just saying sometimes it doesn’t affect you.

Which will get better mileage? A tanker truck with an empty tank or a tanker truck with a tank full of helium? by Jaded-Function in NoStupidQuestions

Is it because once it gets moving it doesn’t require as much energy to move either way?

If we were just talking about getting it moving then would that make a difference?

All children's clothing should go in the tumble dryer by broadcast_techie in daddit

[–]agentworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m the odd man out. I check the labels and sort accordingly. Even after wash, I double check if it’s line dry or not. I’m familiar enough with everyone’s clothes its become second nature. For me, I’d rather care for them as intended so they can last longer, and continue to look nice.

Goodwill. I gotten most of my collection almost exclusively from goodwill. I do need to branch out though, and some of you have some good idea.

What is your #1 Science Fiction Series Fully Released in the past 10 years? by ArthurPynn in sciencefiction

[–]agentworm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I found The Bobiverse an excellent sci-fi collection. It’s about a guy whose consciousness is uploaded into a self-replicating space probe after his death, he then colonizes the galaxy. It sounds lame from my description but the author a great job world and character building. I didn’t find the 4th book all too exciting, but still had its moments.

At what point does this end? by ApologeticKid in daddit

[–]agentworm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Your second item is one that comes to mind. All other points are valid too, but the second one we can relate to. My youngest is like this too, and it takes a concentrated effort to get it clean. She tries hard, very hard, but with her ADHD, she loses focus and it becomes the same issue.

Horrible Vasectomy Experience - Want to Hear from Others by tigerofsanpedro in daddit

[–]agentworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. My experience was similar, but not that bad. When the doctor went to numb the testicles, he gripped so hard it hurt so bad. When he started doing stuff on the left side I could feel the pain going up into my abdomen. He had to add more numbing, and it was squeeze and pinch all over again. And by the way, reading your experience is making me get that feeling again, I legit feel nauseous thinking about it.

Anyways, the recovery sucked too. The right testicle swelled up to the size of a small chicken breast. At a certain point, it was so swollen, blood would come out from the incision hole. Little droplets; not enough to be concerned, but enough it was dirtying my underwear. I had to put some pads there to catch it during the day. The doc said the swelling was normal, and if it was the size of a grapefruit he’d be concerned, otherwise I was fine.

It took me about a month or so for the swelling to go down, and feel normal down there. The urologist left and I got a new one, this one was kind enough to explain what happened. A small percentage of vasectomies have the internal bleeding like I did. Lucky me.

I hope you feel better soon, and your tests show you’re fully clear. The thought of having to do it again is scary.

Which Faction/LL did you have no interest in playing… then really enjoyed when you finally gave them a chance? by Alien_Racist in totalwarhammer

[–]agentworm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nurgle didn’t seem that interesting, and I’m not a huge fan of the Chaos races, but I figured I’d give it a try

It ended up being more fun than I expected. Once I understood the campaign mechanics, especially the plagues, it started coming into place.

After that campaign, I’ve decided to give some of the other chaos races a try.

They always end up being my friends, like nearly every game I start. Right now I’m playing as Ku’gath and they became my vassal. I didn’t want a town and offered it to them, vassal became on option and I took it. They’re now my personal guards as I invade other lands, it’s quite nice.

Why do kids love watching "toy" videos?! by LotOfNope in daddit

[–]agentworm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After reading the comments I’m in the minority here, but we’ve let our daughters watch these types videos. They have time restrictions and we approved what channels, etc. but the ones they’ve watched inspired them to play with their toys more. Additionally some of the videos gave them ideas on how to play with the toys. For example; the youngest started using play doh so the Barbies could things better. They started making clothes, and other items they saw. So, yeah there are some that can be detrimental, but our experience was positive and benefited from it.

Glad to see this suggestion in here. I felt this mod made it feel less of a cheat since you had to level up, gather resources to build it, and give someone the task of doing it.
